VARIABLETUITIONPOPCSVariable Tuition allows families to apply for a reduced tuition rate based on their family’s unique financial situation. Every family at POPCS contributes to the cost of tuition and supports our school. The POPCS Variable Tuition program offers an appropriate tuition level, making a quality Christian school education accessible for more families within our community.By making a Prince of Peace Christian School education more financially possible through Variable Tuition, we will have the opportunity to fully utilize our exceptional program, staff, and facilities to bring a rich diversity of students and families to our school in these challenging times.What is the Variable Tuition Program?WELCOMED. CLICK HERE TO APPLY FOR POPCS VARIABLE TUITION (FACTS)POPCS 2022-2023 Variable Tuition Rates*Published Tiers are to be used as an informational guideline and do not guarantee that a student will qualify for Variable Tuition. Families who qualify will pay a reduced tuition amount based upon their individual circumstances. To qualify for Variable Tuition rates in tiers 3-5, families will typically have multiple children attending POPCS.To be considered for a Variable Tuition Rate, a family application must be submitted and verified through FACTS Grant & Aid. A $35 non-refundable fee will be charged by FACTS upon submission of the application. Applications will require copies of 2020 Tax Returns and 2021 W-2s for all applicants.Final eligibility is determined by Prince of Peace Christian School after a third party review (FACTS) of the entire application, including assets and debts, number of children in tuition-charging schools, unusual expenses and extenuating circumstances, as well as discretionary spending such as vacations, club sports, financial support from other family members, charitable contributions, and vehicle expenses.In a split family situation, all custodial parents will be required to submit an application through FACTS. Variable Tuition Rate will be awarded to the student, as determined by a complete financial review of both parents. The parents, not the school, will determine how the rate is divided. A signed Tuition Agreement will be required for all custodial parents.Every family is required to make a financial investment in their child’s education. All families pay a minimum tuition, regardless of the adjusted gross income range.In addition to Variable Tuition, students may incur other fees including, but not limited to, uniforms, academic support services, athletics, fine arts, and after-school care. Variable rates do not apply to additional fees incurred.Students receiving a Variable Tuition Rate will not be eligible for other family discounts, including the multi-child discount. How are POPCS Variable Tuition Rates determined?The Variable Tuition application with supporting documents is submitted directly to FACTS Grant & Aid by the applicant. FACTS evaluates the application based on the criteria set by POPCS and makes a recommendation to the school’s Variable Tuition team.Many factors are evaluated, including assets and debts, unusual expenses, the number of students attending tuition-paying schools, and the family's size.Families are notified of the tuition level for which they qualify by the POPCS finance office.Who can apply for POPCS Variable Tuition?Any family (current or new) enrolling a Kindergarten through Grade 12 student may apply for POPCS Variable Tuition. Variable Tuition is not available for children enrolling in our Early Learning Center (ELC) or pre-school programs. However, if a family is applying for VT for a child in K-12 and has a child in POPCS ELC or Preschool, tuition for all children will be considered in the family’s financial profile.What will my Variable Tuition rate be?Please see the Variable Tuition rate tiers (page four) for an estimated tuition range your child may qualify for at POPCS. Published tiers are an informational guideline and do not guarantee that a student will receive a Variable Tuition rate.Because the formula used to calculate variable tuition considers many factors, it is impossible to estimate the tuition level for which a family qualifies without completing a Variable Tuition application.Are some families awarded full tuition?No. Every family is required to make a financial investment in their child’s education. All families pay a minimum tuition, regardless of the adjusted gross income range. Does everyone who applies receive Variable Tuition? Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to offer Variable Tuition to every student who qualifies for both admission and reduced tuition.

We work within our available resources to make POPCS accessible to as many students and families as possible. The first round of Variable Tuition rates are awarded in February. Applications received after the first round will be accepted on a rolling basis. Variable tuition rates will be awarded as funds continue to be available.Do returning students receive priority over new students when applying for Variable Tuition?Yes. Re-enrolling POPCS families who apply by January 31, 2022, will receive priority consideration.Do I need to apply for Variable Tuition every year? Yes. A new application must be submitted every year. If a family's financial situation changes significantly, Variable Tuition rates will be adjusted based upon the current demonstrated need.How do I apply for POPCS Variable Tuition?To be considered for a Variable Tuition Rate, a family application must be sub-mitted and verified through FACTS Grant & Aid. Applicants will be notified within 30 days of FACTS application verification.
