Please read and understand these rules carefully:1.As this is an official Malaysian sporting event, in the spirit ofsportsmanship, we expect all invited societies’ teams to meetcertain requirements:The majority of players are MALAYSIAN (e.g. 5 Malaysians + 4Non-Malaysians). 1.The majority of the players are REGISTERED STUDENTS underthe university’s Malaysian society (e.g. 5 MSoc-registeredstudents + 4 non-MSoc-registered students). 2.2.Teams that do not meet the requirements (1.1) and (1.2) will beregistered as an independent team and are liable to an extracharge of £30 per team.3.Each player is only allowed to play only ONE event even if theevents are within the same sport category. For instance, you canonly participate in either Badminton Men’s Single or BadmintonMen’s Double, but not both.4.All contingents are required to provide a referee/umpire, andlinesman according to their respective games. The chosen playeracting as referee/umpire/linesman will be put into a matchaccording to the timetable. More info regarding the referee’stimetable is on the info pack.5.Any unsportsmanlike conduct and violent acts against otherparticipants that are beyond the sport’s generally acceptedstandards will NOT be tolerated. Acts such as -but not limited to-abuse against officials, violations of the sport’s rules, and physicaland verbal abuse will result in the disqualification of the team.6.All players MUST check in at least 10 minutes before the matchstarts. Failure to do so may result in a penalty or disqualification.General Rules10
7.Teams and players MUST comply with all the regulations impliedin the ‘Rules & General Info Booklet’ which will be released in theupcoming weeks8.The Scotland Malaysian Games committees have the right toamend any of the rules if necessary to ensure that thetournament runs smoothly, and all teams must abide by all therules that are laid out to them.9.In the event of extreme circumstances (e.g. heavy snowfall, severestorms), the committees retain the right to delay or cancel theevent to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants andorganizers.General Rules11
Special Circumstances Be present and alert when you are called upon for the briefing session andduring the drawing session.1.Make sure the team provides at least 1 referee/umpire, and linesman whenprompted to do so.2.Make sure the players are on time for every game.3.Captains are responsible for their team’s discipline.4.Aware of the time change for each game as it may change.5.Understand the rules and regulations.6.Provide contact number to the organising committee7.Acknowledging that the team will face the consequences for anyunsportsmanlike conduct and violent acts at any time.8.Notes for the CaptainsUnderstand the rules of your respective game thoroughly.1.Be on time for the games you are in charge of.2.Shows fairness in every decision made without bias and one-sidedness.3.Will be responsible for timekeeping and stopping the clock when needed.4.Each team in every sport is required to provide its own referee/umpire, aswell as a linesman.5.Referees have to prepare their own whistle.6.12Notes for the referees/umpire/linesman

The Glasgow MGames marks the fourth Scotland MGames held and it willbe on the 23rd of November 2024. The venues will be the ScotstounSports Stadium & Kelvinhall which is located in the more happeningWest End of Glasgow. This multifaceted complex is one of the biggestand most well equipped sports facilities in the city and houses amongother amenities, the Scotstoun Stadium which is the home ground ofGlasgow Warriors, a National Badminton Academy, numerous multipurpose sports halls, indoor and outdoor courts, synthetic pitches ofvarious sizes, and plenty of car park facilities for you to park yourvehicles with ease and peace of mind. Among the sporting events we have meticulously planned for you arefutsal, basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton and frisbee. We warmlywelcome every Malaysian brother and sister to come join us for a day offun packed friendly competitions and let us all get to know each otherbetter in the process as well. Important Notes Glasgow MSoc will NOT provide shuttle services from Glasgow to sportsvenues for participating societies; therefore, societies must arrange theirtransport for members or have them arrive individually. 1.Players with underlying health conditions that may pose risks during playare encouraged to sign up at their own risk and consult with theircommittee beforehand. While the Organizing Committee will have first aidavailable, all participants should prioritize their health and safety. 2.Each participating society will have to sign a declaration on the sign-upform stating that players have been warned to sign up at their own risk (ifany).3.Registration will begin at 9:00 am and end at 10:30 am. Players whofinish registration early can use the empty courts to start their warmupsession.4.Please ensure that all participants arrive on time (public transport delaysnotwithstanding) to ensure that the event runs smoothly and withoutdelay.5.Given the limited selection of food and beverage options near sportsvenues, Glasgow MSoc will be selling food and beverages to theparticipants, albeit on a pre-order basis. The full menu and the pre-orderform will be distributed to the participating societies at a later date. If asociety chooses not to pre-order food or beverages from Glasgow MSoc,then it is the responsibility of that society to ensure that its participatingmembers possess adequate amounts of food and beverages.6.Food and beverages are NOT allowed inside of the sports venue. Registration Guide Participating societies are to fill in and submit the Google Form titled‘MGames Participation Form 2024’ by 23:59 on 13 November 2024.1.Forms are to be filled in by the society’s committee members instead ofindividual players - combining the total number of players for each sport ina single form submission.2.Each society can have a reserve team ready for each sport. If there areextra spaces, MSoc will contact your president and sports captain to notifyyou.
