Page 1

FINDING WAYS TO GIVE Extra income. As young people, you may be presented with ways to earn a few extra dollars for aone time, or short term basis job. Can you think of ways you could do this with the goal of donatingall or some of the proceeds to the cause? Do you have a parent or family member that would hireyou to do a project for them? Let's discuss this. Extra income ideas from discussion:____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Scale back on Entertainment (Hulu, Netflix, DirectTV, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Peacock, YoutubeTV, HBOMax, ESPN)... do any of these sound familiar? With so many streaming options, entertainment plans, online subscriptions, tv and cable bills - monthly charges can all add upquickly. Consider scaling back on one of these each month to contribute to the building fund.) Subscriptions or Bills I could cut back on based on our discussion:____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Private Instagram Closet sale, Facebook Marketplace (Do you like to shop these? Do you have afew items you don't need? Consider hosting a closet sale, and donating the proceeds or a portion ofthe proceeds as a way to declutter and generate income.) Based on our discussion, what is something I could potentially part with and donate the proceeds?____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Skip the Extras. We all have different things we love! (Whether that is a coffee run, ($8) grabbingChipotle, ($15), seeing a movie ($15), Ice Cream ($8), Donuts ($5), Culver's or ChicFila ($12),impulse Amazon purchase ($20) - consider skipping this once a month and intentionally adding thisto your giving on top of your normal giving.)Ideas where I could cut back on extra purchases based on our discussion:____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Work Toward a Tithe (If you do not tithe now, set a plan in motion toward doing so. Take yourcurrent giving percentage and add 1% or 2% each month until you reach 10% or more. OR -Increase $1 per month. (Simply start by giving $1 during the first month. Then, give $2 the secondmonth, etc.) If you keep this up for 3 years, you will be able to give more than $650.)Based on these ideas, jot down ways you can increase your giving with your current income.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________GROUP DISCUSSION WORKSHEET
