Sunshine and Roses: Summertime Canvas Painting (Ages 5 & Up) *Join Sunshine and Roses Traveling Art Studio to paint and create your own beautiful masterpiece! These courses are so much fun and no experience is needed! Step-by-step instructions will be given by our teaching artist. All supplies including an 11x14 canvas are provided to participants. Math-By-Mail: Standards Based Practice (Gr. 5-9) *It’s back! Keep young minds active with the locally developed Math-By-Mail curriculum. Math practice accompanied by enrichment activities for the upcoming summer months, created by current middle school math teachers with 45+ years of combined experience! Minnesota State Standards, Math Frameworks MCA strands, and current Minnesota Benchmarks are the foundation for this curriculum. With creative problem solving, multiple-choice, short answers, and vocabulary embedded into an 8-week course of independent study, students will maintain or increase their math understanding level. While improving their math understanding level, students will also be reviewing the recommended targets suggested by grade level in the Minnesota School Academic Standards for mathematics. Each student will be given a pretest to assess the appropriate skill level necessary to strengthen their individual math needs, unlike other programs that are exclusively grade level driven. Students will receive an 8-lesson packet to complete at their own pace throughout the summer. As students nish packets, they are mailed back for feedback and then returned to the students. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and rst aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. RYFRochester Youth Fencers (RYF), a local fencing club, invites you to join us and learn a competitive sport that lasts a lifetime!RYF: High School/Adult Competitive Fencing for Beginners (Ages 11-Adult) *Rochester Youth Fencers (RYF), a local fencing club, invites you to join us and learn a competitive sport that lasts a lifetime! This class teaches skills and techniques in preparation for fencing competition in Minnesota State High School and USFA Meets. After this class, you have the opportunity to compete with other high schools and fencing clubs in Minnesota all the way to the Minnesota State High School Championship Game held in February every year. Call Community Education at 507-328-4000 with any questions regarding class openings.CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY PRIOR TO START DATEIf you withdraw from a class 1 week or more before the start date, you will receive a refund minus a $5.00 processing fee. If you withdraw from a class less than 1 week before the start date, you will receive a pro-rated refund minus any costs incurred, including a $5.00 processing fee. No refunds 72 hours prior to class start date.CLASS WITHDRAWAL POLICY AFTER START DATEYou may withdraw from classes of three sessions or more after attending the rst session. You must notify the Enrichment Ofce, 507-328-4000 of your intent to withdraw prior to the second class. Unless otherwise indicated you will be issued a prorated refund minus a $5.00 processing fee and any costs incurred.TRANSPORTATIONParents are responsible for their student’s transportation unless noted otherwise. Students should be dropped off no earlier than 10 minutes before the listed class start time. Students attending an after school class at their home school will go to the class after school is released. Parent/Guardians are responsible for communicating class information with the school staff. Student MUST be picked up promptly after the listed class end time. Students will only be released directly to their parent/guardian. Parent/Guardians: please meet the instructor and your student at the main/front entrance of the building unless otherwise stated. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATIONFamilies who qualify for the free or reduced price meal program may receive a 50 percent reduction in class fees up to $25 per child, per catalog.
