Genesis South Tower Parking Structure SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CA CM AT RISK Value 23 3 Million Size 200 000 s f Architect McFarlane Architects SOM Parking Structure Phase 3 Real Estate Partners developers of premier life science environments looked to XL Construction to convert six floors of the south tower of the Genesis campus in South San Francisco s bio tech hub Utilizing seven different work permits for flexibility as tenants leased space XL transformed offices into chemistry pharmacology and biology labs while minimizing disruptions to the building s occupants XL installed air handlers exhaust fans a 1 5MW emergency generator a cooling tower vacuums compressors and a fire service elevator In addition XL leveraged the expertise of its sister company Bradley Concrete to construct a seven story 1007 stall cast in place concrete parking structure Work on this highly visible complex located along Highway 101 was delivered using GC with GMP

Exelixis 1701 Harbor Bay Parkway Lab TI ALAMEDA CA DESIGN BID BUILD Value 39 Million Size 59 000 s f Architect DGA XL completed extensive renovations to an existing 59 000 s f building that holds labs and offices for cancer drug developer Exelixis XL integrated a steel structure to the building to accommodate the mechanical electrical and plumbing services that were unable to be supported by the existing roof framing XL added new HVAC and other infrastructure systems created underground lab waste disposal installed fireproofing and a new transformer constructed a utility yard and added a new generator and generator enclosure that carried the load for the new lab equipment and critical lab elements The completed building now houses chemistry biology and pharmacology laboratories that meet Exelixis specifications and a chemical storage bunker for this genomics based research company

Exelixis Exelixis Headquarters Relocation ALAMEDA CA MEP DESIGN BUILD Value 40 Million Size 137 000 s f Architect DGA XL Construction was tapped by cancer drug developer Exelixis to renovate 137 000 s f in three existing buildings for a new headquarters in Alameda CA The buildings were demolished down to their structures and re purposed for Exelixis exact needs The scope included infrastructure work on new mechanical systems new electrical distribution and new roofs on all buildings Interior buildouts covered 70 000 s f of Class A office space and 10 000 s f of warehouse space XL transformed 50 000 s f into lab support spaces and labs for chemistry biology and tissue culture XL also built process utility suites with a 4 hour rated Class H chemical storage bunker
