It s a great time to be apart of the Bobcat Wrestling Family We have finally found a full time home at the Edison Building our overall numbers are growing and we have the best support staff around This year has the makings to be a special year for the varsity wrestlers We come into the season with a group of guys who have spent their off season working hard to get better What s especially unique is that we do not have a single senior on the team Our schedule will be challenging but our staff feels that through the efforts of our athletes we ll rise to meet that challenge as we continue to reestablish a winning culture at JGHS As you know it takes a village and in this case a community to help a program grow and find success We would like to take this opportunity to thank the countless people who have contributed to rebuilding this program Thank you to all of the team sponsors for their generous contributions to our program It s your support that has helped us to renovate our wrestling room Thank you to the Administration for being our backbone of support It makes our job easier as a staff when you have an administration that supports your vision and actively helps you reach those goals Thank you to the JGHS Booster Club for consistently providing support to ALL the programs at Glenn The amount of work you put in to provide for all of our student athletes has not gone unnoticed and we appreciate you Thank you to our wonderful parents who show up regardless of weather time of day or time of year Our season is long and grueling and without you providing food on competition days transporting kids and cheering us on in the stands we wouldn t be able to be the team we want to be Lastly thank you to our PAWS team our Parents About Wrestling Support is our special forces group that does all the work behind the scenes It s very simple we would not be able to do the things we do without you You are incredible THANK YOU Our team goals are pretty simple Get better everyday and go about our business the right way We hope to represent John Glenn High School our District our alumni our families and our community in a way that makes you proud Again thank you for your support and we hope to see you all in the gym cheering us on 3

Coach Albrecht Coach Albrecht started his wrestling career at John Glenn High School in Westland MI in 9th grade From there he went on to wrestle at Olivet College for the legend Jare Klein After completing his bachelor of arts degree in secondary education Coach Albrecht went on to teach math in Detroit for 1 year and Dearborn for 2 years During this time he was the coach of the Franklin Middle School wrestling program and the Eric Mason JV football program In 2009 he married the love of his life Elizabeth and then moved to Bay City to begin teaching at John Glenn High School in Bangor Township After 1 year he went on to teach at Christa McAuliffe Middle School for 6 years before becoming the Bangor Township Virtual School Director for the last 4 years Coach Albrecht has coached football wrestling and track at John Glenn high school over the years and is ecstatic to once again work with the Bobcat wrestling team HEAD COACH MATT BISHOP As a former Glenn graduate and Bay County Roadrunner Coach Bishop is very excited to be back in his hometown as the Head Coach of the John Glenn Varsity Wrestling Team He returns to his Alma Mater with close to 40 years of experience in the sport After an outstanding high school career he took his talents to the Big Ten and competed for Michigan State University He finished his wrestling and college career at Grand Valley State University where he earned his college degree as well as won a National Title After wrapping up his competitive career at GVSU Bishop stepped right into the coaching arena As an assistant coach he has been on staff of four different programs that competed for team state titles two of which won multiple state titles He has been the head coach for two other high schools and has been a staff member on two national teams As the new head coach Coach Bishop hopes to establish a culture within the wrestling program that breeds athletic and academic success Coach Chad Cnudde 4 year high school varsity wrestler 2 time captain Team qualified 3 of 4 years ending with a runner up finish my senior year 15 years coaching wrestling 3rd year assisting at John Glenn My goal is to help create a positive culture in and out of our wrestling room 4

Coach Jim Forgash Looking forward to the opportunity to work with coach Bishop again Back in 2008 coach Bishop brought me in as an assistant for his first head coaching job at Lakeland High School It was a learning experience that brought me back into the sport I love and the passion I have for working with kids I will bring several years of assistant coaching experience and an enthusiastic attitude to learn the wrestling philosophy coach Bishop has developed since our time together at Lakeland Wrestling experience Ferris State University three time all state with a state championship in 1987 I am excited about building an elite program at our alma mater John Glenn High School Coach Tyler Kuch Wrestled at Olivet College 7 years of coaching with Bay County Roadrunners 3 years coaching at CMMS 2nd year with John Glenn Olivia Armstrong Statistician Coach Collin Weber Wrestled at Defiance College 5 years of coaching with Bay County Roadrunners 3 years coaching at CMMS 2nd year with John Glenn Maddy Forgash Statistician 5
