CHRISTOPHER LITTLE FOOD PANTRY Our pantry stock is MEDIUM. As the seasons change so does our pantry needs. Our Fall Wish List includes Canned Soup/Stews, Canned Meats/Fish, Boxed Cereal, Powdered/Shelf Stable Milk, Drink Mixes (powdered lemonade, tea, coffee, Kool-Aid), Rice, Etc. Donations may be dropped off in the Food Pantry collection box located near the Formation Center. Non-perishable Foods only. INTERFAITH CARING MINISTRIES Toilet tissue, paper products, feminine hygiene, dental care items, laundry detergent, pet food, non-perishable foods. Toilet tissue and paper products are the most frequently requested items. A collection container is located outside the Formation Center. ANCHOR POINT Any items supporting infant and toddler care, including diapers (especially Size 5), wipes, food, formula, and new clothing. Wipes are the most frequently requested items. A collection container is located outside the Formation Center. CROSSROADS AT PARK PLACE/SAN PABLO EPISCOPAL CHURCH Tattered or stained, your clean towels and washcloths are needed for showers provided by Crossroads at Park Place. Basket inside the Associate Rector's office. PRAYER BLANKETS AND PRAYER POCKETS Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting or quilting? If you do and are wanting to bless others with your creations St. Christopher is always in need of Prayer Pockets and/or Prayer Blankets for those who are suffering serious illness and /or loss of a loved one, or for anyone needing a blanket of compassion. The prayer blankets are given to those in the St. Christopher community or to friends and families of those in the parish who may need comfort and solace in time of need. PARISH NEWS MOTHER’S DAY OUT Mother’s Day Out (MDO) is back in session for the school year. Please keep in mind there are kiddos on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00am-2:00pm. For their safety the church campus is closed to visitors during MDO. PLATINUM JUBILEE Our St. Christopher Episcopal Church's Platinum Jubilee 70 years (1955-2025) celebration is fast approaching. CHRISTOPHER CHURCH JUBILEE COOKBOOK In honor of St. Christopher's Platinum Jubilee, we are creating a new parish cookbook! We welcome all recipes, including recipes from past parish BBQ's, Pie Sharing, our Lenten Soup Suppers, other church events, or other recipes that are meaningful to your family. On Sunday, September 28th, at 12:15pm, we will begin a new quarterly ministry called "Burgers with Brian". This will be a time of fellowship and lunch for people who are new to St. Christopher. We will gather in the Hospitality Center for a simple meal and conversation. Please let us know you are coming with an RSVP to Fr. Brian through the church office - office@stchrischurch.org. AN INVITATION TO DISCERN There are a growing number of members of St. Christopher that find themselves navigating the waters of caregiving for others. In response to this reality, there is a desire to create a ministry at St. Christopher that comes along side caregivers in support of the call upon their lives. On Thursday, October 9th at 2:30 p.m., there will be a gathering in the Formation Center, led by John Lothrop and Fr. Brian, for anyone interested in discerning together how God might be calling St. Christopher to move forward. Please join us! ADULT FORMATION IN SEPTEMBER Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference, by Philip Yancy - Join Fr. Brian in the church conference room for this four-week study on what prayer is and how it works while asking the question "does it work?" Power of a Praying Parent, by Stormie Omartian - St. Christopher parents of families are invited to join in our NEW Sunday morning program. The bible study for this class will be “The Stories we Tell Our Kids”, based upon stories we tell our children throughout the years from bedtime stories to personal stories of our own and how to connect them to the story of Jesus in their lives. THE LIGHTHOUSE – ST. CHRIS YOUTH GROUP Thursdays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm in Hospitality Center The St. Christopher Youth are invited to join a new weekly youth group event, the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse will be time set aside during the week for the youth to be in community with each other outside Sunday mornings to eat a meal, play games/hang out, and participate in Compline and worship. No preregistration is required! We hope you will join us for this fun new offering! HEALTHY CLASSROOM DONATIONS St. Christopher Outreach & Missions will host a hand sanitizer and facial tissue donations drive starting Sunday, September 14 and continuing for 4 weeks. This drive will assist Communities in Schools at League City Elementary in assuring healthy classrooms and comforts for all through the cold and flu season ahead. Hand Sanitizer. 60% - 70% ethyl alcohol (aka, non-toxic ethanol), in pump bottles 8 oz - 34 oz (no larger please). Brands include, but are not limited to: Purell, GermX, Amazon Basics, Up&Up, Equate, Walgreens. Please just check the ingredients! Note: no varieties with Vitamin E, Aloe, or other additives. Facial Tissue. Plain tissues, any brand, in "cube" or rectangular boxes. Any ply welcome, but PLEASE consider the quality and softness in repeatedly wiping raw little noses! Please, also, no varieties which might cause allergic reactions or sting tender skin. No designs (dyes), no lotions, no aloes or infused vitamins, etc. "Medical Center" Collection Bins are located outside the Formation Center and at the Buckner Hall entrance. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP DUTCH DINNER Women of St. Christopher Fellowship dinner provides opportunities for ladies in our parish community to build relationships and encourage each other in their faith.
