CHRISTOPHER LITTLE FOOD PANTRY Our pantry stock is LOW. Our Summer Food Drive is well under way to help stock our new Little Food Pantry because hunger doesn't go on summer vacation. We are asking for help stocking our Little Food Pantry for the summer. Drop off non-perishable items any time through August 31st in the designated Food Pantry box located near the Formation Center. Non-perishable Foods only. Thank you for all your generosity! INTERFAITH CARING MINISTRIES Toilet tissue, paper products, feminine hygiene, dental care items, laundry detergent, pet food, non-perishable foods. Toilet tissue and paper products are the most frequently requested items. A collection container is located outside the Formation Center. ANCHOR POINT Any items supporting infant and toddler care, including diapers (especially Size 5), wipes, food, formula, and new clothing. Wipes are the most frequently requested items. CHRISTOPHER BOTTLEPAX MINISTRY When you encounter our neighbors without housing on street corners and byways, do you ever wonder what you can do that will matter? We have an answer for you: the parish's bottlepax outreach ministry. Just take a couple of "pax" (offerings of "peace") and place these in your car. Located outside the welcome center, these are yours for the taking, to be turned around as giving. PARISH NEWS NEW SUNDAY SERVICE TIMES BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 7TH Beginning September 7th, we will be adjusting our Sunday service times to the schedule below: 8:00am - Rite I Traditional 9:00am - Contemporary 10:10am - Christian Formation-all ages 11:00am - Rite II Traditional NAVAJO MISSION SUNDAY, TODAY, AUGUST 24! TODAY, Sunday, August 24 join us for the annual domestic mission report from the Navajo Mission Team! The team will gather to share photos and reflections during the Formation Hour. The content is rich, so we will begin as soon as the assembly is seated with breakfast, or about 9:20am in Buckner Hall. Along with the regular potluck breakfast items, parishioners will find some samples of Navajo cuisine! LAST DAY OF SUMMER AT ST. CHRISTOPHER SUNDAY AUGUST 31st Next Sunday, August 31st is our last day of our Summer Schedule at St. Christopher. Join us as we have one last fellowship potluck breakfast to end our Summer as we begin a new Season at St. Christopher. PLATINUM JUBLIEE November 1st and 2nd join us in celebrating St. Christopher Episcopal Church's Platinum Jubilee (70 years 1955- 2025). Volunteers are hard at work planning this huge milestone. NEW WEDNESDAY WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY Wednesday mornings in the Formation Center starting September 3rd, Women's Bible Study will begin a new study, The Gospel of John by Amy-Jill Levine. John’s Gospel offers readers a new language―of being born anew, of living water, of wind and spirit, of the “I am”― that enhances how we understand the divine, how we experience the world, and how we participate in the mystery of faith. IT’S BACK! ART FOR SELF-CARE AND SELF-COMPASSION Thursdays, September 4, 11, 18, 2025, 3:45pm – 5:15pm, St. Christopher Art Studio Guides: Nancy Crouch, Carla Homer, Mother Viktoria+ Participants will be invited to art as a therapeutic self-practice. Using short exercises, participants will build skills towards reflection, resilience, and restoration for the purpose of improved well-being. No supplies needed. $5 per class donation requested. GRIEFSHARE A new session of GriefShare will begin Monday, September 8th from 1:30pm-3:00pm in the Formation Center. A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. The group size is limited to 12. COLORING OUR COMMUNITY, FALL ART RETREAT 2025 Saturday, November 22, 2025, 9am-Noon Colormakers, Artmakers, Hopemakers! Mark your calendars early as we offer an encore event, “Coloring Our Community: Expressing Encouragement in Alcohol Ink” hosted by St. Christopher Art Studio. This year we will again produce greeting cards for use in and for residents of assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. This is a full retreat for adults: all materials and refreshments provided. This event is capped at 30 adult participants. Early Registration: $35 ($40 after 11/1/2025). Community@stchrischurch.org. SCOUT ME IN Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack 609 are geared up for this year! An exciting calendar is planned, don’t miss out and join today! Boy Scout Troop 609 (boys ages 11-18) meet at St. Christopher each Monday night from 7:00-8:30pm.
