The WWF began in April of 1961 after many conservationalist organizations with minimal funds joined together to create the "World Wild Foundation." Their headquarters were in Morges, Switzerland and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands became their first leader.
The WWF organizes their work around food, climate, fresh water, wildlife, forests, and oceans.
This is a non governmental organization which works with 100 countries and is supported by over 5 million members globally. The WWF utilizes science and innovation in order to meet the needs of people and nature.
