A message from Hannah December was a busy month for everyone at Ferring with events for Day Service Customers and the General Public being held We had our first Christmas Fayre which was a great success and held our annual Carols in the Stable event This year for the first time our music group performed during the evening who were brilliant well done Day Service Customers enjoyed their Christmas Disco at the Rugby Club Many Thanks to Worthing Rugby Club for Hosting us and a wonderful Christmas dinner Since our last newsletter we have said Good Bye to Alison Hands who had been our Farm Manager for the past 18 months and had worked at Ferring for 10 years We wish her the very best for the future Raffaella Starace has taken on overall responsibility for the Farm in addition to the Customer Development programme and we have appointed a qualified and experienced Animal Welfare Coordinator to work with Raff and the farm team as we continue to develop our farm We are most definitely in the grips of winter at the moment so please ensure that you wrap up warm with coats gloves hats and warm boots Quiz Corner 1 Which British animal is brown in Summer and white in Winter 2 Which fruit has a variety called winter banana 3 How many sides snowflakes have 4 True or false the earth is closer to the sun in our winter than in summer do all Cold Gloves Ice Skating Winter Footprints White Jacket Mittens Socks Snowman Soup Frost Scarf Hibernate Snow Snowflake Migrate Hat Boots
Ferring Funders and Friends We would like to thank Will Redfern and Than Thevarajah from Capgemini who organised a Mario Kart tournament to not only raise funds for our Centre but also to raise awareness regarding the work that we do On 19th December Will and Than visited the Riding Therapy Unit with their colleague Rachael and presented the unit with a donation of 152 We would also like to the Arun Divers for supporting us at this years Littlehampton Leap which was held on 6th January They raised over 3000 and this will be split between their two chosen charities The Littlehampton Tornados and us We would also like to thank Goring by Sea Co op Vicki Woodard Jenny Adcock Spotted Cow St Andrews Church East Preston Festival Howard Hayes and the Families Group for their generous donations Ferring Fillies Run Furlongs for Ferring On Sunday 10th February the Ferring Fillies will be running the Worthing Half Marathon to raise funds for Ferring Country Centre Hannah Tombs Nicki King Raffaella Starace and Sam Kirk decided to enter the half marathon in September 2018 so they formed the Ferring Fillies and training began As part of their training the fillies entered the Worthing Running Sisters Christmas Cracker 10k on Sunday 1st December Unfortunately due to Sickness Nicki was unable to take part on the day The rest of the fillies managed some respectable times on a very wet and windy seafront With just days left until the big day there is still time to support the fillies Donations can be made in reception or online at https mydonate bt com fundraisers samkirk1 Thank you for your support
