CHILDREN & FAMILY PROGRAMS READING CHALLENGES Winter Reading Challenge January 1-March 31 Book lovers of all ages can participate in our Winter Reading Challenge. Sign up and log your progress at greenfieldlibrary.beanstack.org or pick up a reading log at the Adult Reference Desk or Children’s Desk. Read at least 15 minutes a day, five days a week to earn an entry (one entry per week) into our grand prize drawing. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Develop your child's early literacy skills, teach them to love books, and prepare them for school by participating in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. ART EXHIBIT Artwork of Arlene Davey May 1-May 31 Creativity and art have been a lifelong passion for Arlene as a Wisconsin and former Florida resident. She makes colorful art in abstract, expressionistic, or impressionistic styles. Besides painting, Arlene also enjoys making pottery and jewelry. Milwaukee-based Cat and Hare will play a medley of traditional Irish tunes that will get you stomping. They will bring you a fun evening full of roaring jigs and reels and tell some stories along the way. Jigsaw Puzzle Competition Saturday, February 3, 11:00 AM-2:30 PM Grab some friends and come down to GPL for some intense jigsaw puzzling action. Eight teams will be squaring off to complete a 750-piece puzzle before time runs out. The first team to finish will receive Board Game Barrister gift cards and the coveted “Missing Piece” trophy. Limber up those fin-gers and sharpen those eyes: jigsaw puzzling just became REAL! Registration is REQUIRED. Only eight team spots (of no more than four puzzlers) are available. Starting in January, Greenfield Public Library will host an ongoing puzzle ex-change spot where you can donate an old puzzle or take a new one home with you. ADULT PROGRAMS Irish Music Show – Cat and Hare Monday, March 11, 7:00-8:00 PM Get in the swing of St. Patrick’s season with an evening of Irish music! Milwaukee-based Cat and Hare will play a medley of traditional Irish tunes that will get you stomping. They will bring you a fun evening full of roaring jigs and reels and tell some stories along the way. Jigsaw Puzzle Competition Saturday, February 3, 11:00 AM-2:30 PM Grab some friends and come down to GPL for some intense jigsaw puzzling action. Eight teams will be squaring off to complete a 750-piece puzzle before time runs out. The first team to finish will receive Board Game Barrister gift cards and the coveted “Missing Piece” trophy. Limber up those fin-gers and sharpen those eyes: jigsaw puzzling just became REAL! Registration is REQUIRED. Only eight team spots (of no more than four puzzlers) are available. Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange A lot of puzzles are completed once, put away, and are never used again. Now you can get the joy of experiencing a new puzzle without having to buy one! Starting in January, Greenfield Public Library will host an ongoing puzzle ex-change spot where you can donate an old puzzle or take a new one home with you.
