RestoRation MinistRies Gabrielle Henderson Testimony Continued from page 1 Getting drugs and meeting up with drug dealers was never something I had to do so I wasn t very good at it It didn t take long for my parents to catch on and start wondering if I was doing drugs Just a month after Kory was arrested my little sister found my needles and gave them to my mom My parents gave me two options 1 Stay home and detox until they found a rehab for me or WinteR 2016 In November 2014 I agreed to go to Tabitha House I had spent just under 90 days in jail when I was released to complete a program in a state I had never been to While I was living at Tabitha House my life drastically changed The biggest and best change was God He brought me through the deep valley of addiction Everything broken in my life has been made beautiful but only because of Jesus I learned who I am in Christ and now I understand all the events in my life that God used to draw me closer to Him I forgave myself and my mom Today we have a stronger relationship than we ve ever had I learned that I don t have to seek human approval Life isn t about being good enough because in God s eyes I am perfect 2 Leave and they would call the police I wasn t ready to face my problem so I ran My parents did call the police and filed a missing persons report I was gone for almost a month During that month I went all out It wasn t just heroin anymore I was doing any drug I could find and getting drugs by any means necessary Gabby and Harvey House graduate Andrew Henderson were married on July 29 2016 I went to court on August 20 2014 which happened to by my 20th birthday I pled guilty to the drug charge and was sentenced to 90 days in jail Just a few days into my sentence my mom pressed charges on me for taking her debit card This turned my 90 day sentence into 180 days From the very beginning of my sentence my parents were always pushing me to go to a long term treatment program far from home We looked into many different places but Restoration Ministries always stood out to me I was in jail with other girls who knew people that had gone through Tabitha House and Harvey House I also heard about it from the woman who taught the 12 step meetings at the jail and from a pastor who came and meet one onone with us Halfway through my sentence I made a choice I chose life I chose to get help I knew I needed to get far away from Bucyrus and the environment I was so used to 6 Everything about our wedding was perfect Both of our families were together My two younger siblings and his three older siblings stood up in our wedding My close friend Kate Hayley was my Maid of Honor and her husband Jeff was a groomsman We met Kate and Jeff at Restoration Ministries and they are graduates too All of the people from Restoration Ministries and our church Spirit of God Fellowship who had walked with us through the program were there celebrate with us Falling in love was not something I planned on doing I certainly didn t expect to meet my husband at a drug treatment program The plans God had for my life and for my husband s life were bigger than I could have ever imagined Today we are both working at Restoration Ministries He is one of the thrift store managers and I manage the eBay and Amazon departments After our wedding we moved to Tinley Park where we share a house with his sister who is a Tabitha House graduate and her husband Since graduating from Tabitha House my life has been nothing short of amazing For the first time in my life I can actually say that I am joyful and hopeful for the future God has planned for Andrew and me God knew all along that my deepest desire was to get married and have my own family So far he has given me the most loving caring and respectful husband I could have asked for And I know one day Andrew and I will have our own family A family that we can teach all the things Tabitha House and Harvey House taught us Everything broken in my life has been made beautiful because of Jesus After being in the program for eleven months I was offered a job at Restoration Ministries Thrift Store as the eBay manager This job was perfect for me because I was able to live at Tabitha House and save money for a car I graduated in December 2015 and continued living at the house and working at the Thrift Store Just a few months later I got engaged Andrew Henderson asked me to marry him and of course I said Yes We actually met at Restoration Ministries while in the program he went through Harvey House at the same time I was in Tabitha House We both continued to live in the houses until our wedding On July 29 2016 the absolute best day of my life I got to marry my best friend None of this would have ever been possible without Jesus Christ I am truly grateful that Tabitha House was there when I needed help Thank you to everyone who has ever supported Tabitha House Your support and faith in this program saved my life n RestoRation MinistRies Today we have a stronger relationship than we ve ever had I learned that I don t have to seek human approval Life isn t about being good enough because in God s eyes I am perfect 2 Leave and they would call the police I wasn t ready to face my problem so I ran My parents did call the police and filed a missing persons report I was gone for almost a month During that month I went all out It wasn t just heroin anymore I was doing any drug I could find and getting drugs by any means necessary Gabby and Harvey House graduate Andrew Henderson were married on July 29 2016 I went to court on August 20 2014 which happened to by my 20th birthday I pled guilty to the drug charge and was sentenced to 90 days in jail Just a few days into my sentence my mom pressed charges on me for taking her debit card This turned my 90 day sentence into 180 days From the very beginning of my sentence my parents were always pushing me to go to a long term treatment program far from home We looked into many different places but Restoration Ministries always stood out to me I was in jail with other girls who knew people that had gone through Tabitha House and Harvey House I also heard about it from the woman who taught the 12 step meetings at the jail and from a pastor who came and meet one onone with us Halfway through my sentence I made a choice I chose life I chose to get help I knew I needed to get far away from Bucyrus and the environment I was so used to 6 Everything about our wedding was perfect Both of our families were together My two younger siblings and his three older siblings stood up in our wedding My close friend Kate Hayley was my Maid of Honor and her husband Jeff was a groomsman We met Kate and Jeff at Restoration Ministries and they are graduates too All of the people from Restoration Ministries and our church Spirit of God Fellowship who had walked with us through the program were there celebrate with us Falling in love was not something I planned on doing I certainly didn t expect to meet my husband at a drug treatment program The plans God had for my life and for my husband s life were bigger than I could have ever imagined Today we are both working at Restoration Ministries He is one of the thrift store managers and I manage the eBay and Amazon departments After our wedding we moved to Tinley Park where we share a house with his sister who is a Tabitha House graduate and her husband Since graduating from Tabitha House my life has been nothing short of amazing For the first time in my life I can actually say that I am joyful and hopeful for the future God has planned for Andrew and me God knew all along that my deepest desire was to get married and have my own family So far he has given me the most loving caring and respectful husband I could have asked for And I know one day Andrew and I will have our own family A family that we can teach all the things Tabitha House and Harvey House taught us Everything broken in my life has been made beautiful because of Jesus After being in the program for eleven months I was offered a job at Restoration Ministries Thrift Store as the eBay manager This job was perfect for me because I was able to live at Tabitha House and save money for a car I graduated in December 2015 and continued living at the house and working at the Thrift Store Just a few months later I got engaged Andrew Henderson asked me to marry him and of course I said Yes We actually met at Restoration Ministries while in the program he went through Harvey House at the same time I was in Tabitha House We both continued to live in the houses until our wedding On July 29 2016 the absolute best day of my life I got to marry my best friend None of this would have ever been possible without Jesus Christ I am truly grateful that Tabitha House was there when I needed help Thank you to everyone who has ever supported Tabitha House Your support and faith in this program saved my life n RestoRation MinistRies
