First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read about P.A.L.S.for Healing. When I started this organization in 2016, my goal wasto provide services to those affected by trauma and/or loss whomay not otherwise be able to have access to these importantprograms. As an experienced clinician who has been in the fieldfor more than 15 years, I have seen an ever-increasing need tohelp these people so that they can break the cycle of generationaltrauma. By learning healthy coping skills now, they can providehope for not only their own future, but also their future familymembers. Throughout P.A.L.S. for Healing’s history we have we have servedmore than 1,000 individual clients and 1,500 in support groups,1,000 community members at events, trained 2,00 people at 64learning opportunities, and grown our programs to accommodatewhat we see as needs of those we help. In order for us to plan forour future clients and programs, we have a strategic plan goingforward on guiding us to help even more individuals...we hopeyou’ll be a part of this plan.FROM OUREXECUTIVEDIRECTORMisty Ramos-Saviano, ATR, LPCC-S, ACTP, CITExecutive DirectorMisty Ramos-Saviano3

Drawing and making art is a natural form ofexpression that engages the right side of the brain, therefore, arttherapy provides an opportunity to express yourself from anemotionally safe distance through images and pictures. We start with establishing a safe environment for healing sincetrauma survivors rarely feel safe in the world. We utilize trauma-informed therapies to engage both sides of the brain and assist inhealing from an emotionally safe distance, reducing the risk offurther trauma.4
