SEMPA is accepting applications for the up-coming 2021-2022 Board of Director’s election. There are five (5) seats open: President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and two (2) Director at Large positions. Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by another Fellow SEMPA member in good standing. If another Fellow member nominates a candidate, the nominee must complete and submit the required submission packet by the deadline in order to be considered for the slate. SEMPA launched its new SEMPA Live! virtual education channel and we are offering a FREE CME course every month from now until the end of the year. The first event was held August 25 and featured the course Doom From Down Under: Scary GYN Stories and What I Learned From Them, which was immediately followed by a Q&A session with the speaker, Jenny Beck-Esmay, MD.SEMPA held its first-ever EMPA PostgraduateProgram Virtual Grand Rounds earlier this week.Program directors and EMPA residents joinedmembers of the SEMPA PostgraduateCommittee for a night of education and fun. Several 20-minute sessions weregiven on topics ranging from emergency medicine core training to professionalissues. There was also a virtual scavenger hunt and a post-rounds happy hournetworking sessions. The SEMPA Advocacy Committee recently developed a new set of goals and priorities that the committee will be working on. The committee wants to ensure that you as a member know that theorganization is here to conduct advocacy efforts to support you and yourpractice of emergency medicine.
