Who are we?We are an organisation that can help you nd somewhere to live.Our Shared Lives Carers will welcome you to join in with their family life in their own homes.Long termYou can choose to live with a Shared Lives Carer and their family.The house would become your home.Enjoy a breakYou might stay for a weekend or a few days as a break from where you live.Day time supportYou can go and spend the day with one of our Shared Lives families.Ways we can support youAll our carers have been checked out by us to make sure they’re good at their job.How will we help you?Shared Lives South West will help you nd the right support and SLSW Carer.We will:l Help you meet afamily and let you try it out so you can decide if Shared Lives is right for you.l Help you achieveyour goals and live life to the full.l Help you manageyour money to make sure you can afford it.l Visit you and yourShared Lives carer to make sure you are ok.We want everyone who lives in Shared Lives to live life how they want, to be as independent as possible and to do the things you want to doWhat is it like?l You will have yourown bedroom and share the rest of the home with the family.l You will be able to bepart of the community and join in activities where you livel You can make newfriends and be supported to keep in touch with the people who are important to you.l You can learn skillslike cooking, cleaning, laundry and managing your money. This might help you to be more independent in the future.
