In a celebration of community commitment to environmental stewardship, we're thrilled to shine the spotlight on Nasario Gomez, a Met Equality student, who has successfully completed the "Surf & Turf: Conservation 101" program in Newport. This extraordinary 8-week environmental science class, presented in partnership with FabNewport and the Norman Bird Sanctuary, offered Nasario and his fellow learners an exhilarating opportunity to explore the beauty of Narragansett Bay. Whether they were gliding gracefully on kayaks, mastering the art of stand-up paddle boarding, or trekking through lush forest trails, this program provided an immersive and unforgettable experience. Nasario dove headfirst into the heart of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The program’s focus was firmly set on 'life below water' and 'life on land.' Through extensive exploration, dedicated research, and meticulous investigation, Nasario and his cohort got a deeper understanding of the environment. Nasario’s commitment to this program not only provided personal growth but also played a vital role in efforts to protect our planet's invaluable natural treasures. This was more than just an educational journey; it was a celebration of community, conservation, and the boundless wonders of our world.9NASARIO GOMEZ TAKES THE PLUNGE INTO NEWPORT'S CONSERVATION ADVENTURE
Our remarkable 9th-grade student, Daniela, recently had an extraordinary opportunity to immerse herself in the realm of civics in a manner that most can only imagine! She dedicated her day to shadowing professionals at the Rhode Island State House. During her visit, Daniela had the privilege of meeting Secretary of State Mr. Amore and Deputy Secretary of State Mr. Rock. We are immensely proud of Daniela for embracing this learning opportunity and for representing The Met High School with her inquisitiveness and eagerness to learn. Our commitment is to encourage our students to explore, engage, and comprehend the world around them, and Daniela has exemplified that commitment brilliantly.CIVIC EXPLORATION10We couldn't be more proud of our Liberty 9th graders who recently took a trip to Boston led by the incredible Stacy and Jodi.
