Special Notes from Sarah and BenAmbiance: We’ve added Chinese lanterns above the dance oor to remind us of our favorite lounge in Bangkok, Sing Sing eater.Our favorite foods: We will share some tasty cuisine from places around the world where we’ve lived and traveled: paella, pizza, dumplings, spring rolls, tacos, and a late-night surprise!Fun fact: Ben used to play the saxophone!e Cigar Lounge: Like Joe Burrow and Sarah’s Grandfather Lowell, Ben likes cigars for special occasions. Corn Hole: Both our families are very competitive corn hole players. Beware!e bride’s purse: is special gift was designed by Aunt Sugie and is made from the wedding dresses of Ben’s and Sarah’s Grandmothers. Something borrowed, something blue, and the sixpence in her shoe: e pearls Sarah is wearing today were borrowed from her family. e blue garter was handmade by Sarah’s Great Aunt Welda in 1948 for Sarah’s grandparent’s wedding. e sixpence comes from London via a trip Grandfather Lowell made many years ago.Grandparents’ favorite drinks: Ben’s Grandmother enjoyed Manhattans, while Sarah’s Grandparents used to drink martinis with 5 olives in them so they could give one to each of their children. Today’s featured drinks are “Grandma B’s Manhattan Up” and “Grandpa Lowell’s beer with tequila chaser”!HilltopSarah’s extended family purchased Hilltop together in 1995 so that Sarah and her cousins could grow up together during weekends, summers, and holidays. More recently, throughout the pandemic, Hilltop has been a haven for Sarah and Ben. e Minges family has joined the Hilltop family in making cider, participating in murder mystery parties, and more, including painting the barn! We’re so happy that you can share this special place with us.
