Each building is fully occupied and operational during normal working hours. ZUCKERBERG SFGH & TRAUMA CENTER (ZSFGH)SAN FRANCISCO, CAZSFGH is a modern medical facility with 284 beds and a 40,000-square-foot emergency room; the hospital provides comprehensive care to patients with various medical needs. It also boasts a 20,000-square-foot radiology department, 13 operating rooms, intensive care units, critical care, neonatal intensive care, obstetrics, pediatrics, sterile processing, pharmacy, laboratory, pulmonary function, biomedical, morgue, and autopsy services. In addition to its healthcare services, the hospital is home to 20 UCSF research centers, making it a hub for medical research and innovation.One of the notable features of ZSFG is its earthquake-resistant design, which includes 115 triple-pendulum-bearing base isolators that ensure the hospital withstands earthquakes and other natural disasters. The project was completed on a fully operational campus that has been in use since 1872. ZUCKERBERG SFGH & TRAUMA CENTER (ZSFGH): UTILITIES SAN FRANCISCO, CAThe Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center: Utilities scope encompassed two primary utility phases on an active health services and research campus. Phase I involved relocating, replacing, and rerouting existing utilities for the hospital and campus buildings using BIM survey and modeling tools to assess HVAC, steam lines, IT conduits, electrical power, and sewer connections. Webcor managed to relocate and upgrade the utility network without disruptions, ahead of schedule, saving over $1 million.Phase II involved Webcor upgraded the central utility plant while maintaining services. They collaborated with the facility, design team, and OSHPD sta to install new generators and infrastructure on the hillside, including retaining walls, guard rails, fuel oil piping, and concrete slabs, with no reported campus impacts. UCSF WAYNE AND GLADYS VALLEY CENTER FOR VISIONSAN FRANCISCO, CAThe UCSF Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision is a mixed-use project designed by SmithGroupJJR. This 20-level building includes a 12-level tower, a five-level south wing, and a three-level north wing with a rooftop garden. The project also features surface parking with 75,000 square feet of space and 200 stalls. Located across from the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, the project provides space for scientific initiatives that require desktop space near other UCSF research programs, such as the Institute for Computational Health Sciences, the CERSI/Drug Development Ecacy Research, the Genomic Medicine Initiative Core, and the Bio-banking Core. As an OSHPD Level 3 project, the building meets rigorous safety standards. SANTA CLARA VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER SAN JOSE, CASanta Clara Valley Medical Center’s Behavioral Health services facility includes a 66-bed acute psychiatric hospital for children, adolescents, and adults, a 50-bed emergency psychiatric facility, a mental health urgent care facility, and associated support areas. SJSU AUDIOLOGY RENOVATIONSAN JOSE, CAThe San Jose State Audiology Renovation was a design-build project that improved the audiology lab and classroom spaces. The project included areas for fitting and adjusting hearing aids, performing electrophysiology testing, vestibular testing, and a full audiometric suite with two testing booths and a booth for middle ear analysis. SALESFORCE TRANSIT CENTERSAN FRANCISCO, CAThe Salesforce Terminal improves the transportation network of the Bay area. The project involves a single structure consisting of four levels above and two below grade. Known as the "Grand Central Station of the West," this modern regional transit hub connects eight counties in the Bay area and California through 11 transit systems. The Salesforce Transbay Terminal comprises three segments connected by seismic separation joints. These joints allow for a broader range of movement during an earthquake. The project involved the relocation of utilities across six blocks, excavating more than 600,000 cubic yards, and the construction of a 5+ acre rooftop park. METRO GOLD LINE FOOTHILL EXTENSION INTERMODAL PARK & RIDE FACILITIES SOUTHERN CALIFORNIAThe Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Intermodal Park & Ride Facilities is a transportation and parking structure project with four parking structures with one to four levels above grade and 1,321 stalls. Designed by Watry Design, Inc., this design-build project also features intermodal enhancements such as bike racks, lockers, bus pads, shelters, sidewalks, and crosswalks. Other project components include demolition, utility relocation, retaining walls, ventilation systems, and two Traction Power Sub Stations (TPSS) for power and communications. LETTERMAN DIGITAL ARTS CENTERSAN FRANCISCO, CAThe Letterman Digital Arts Center is a corporate campus in San Francisco's historic Presidio National Park, designed by Gensler and HKS Architects. The campus comprises four low-rise structures. It serves as the headquarters for Industrial Light & Magic, LucasArts, and Lucasfilm's marketing, online, and licensing units, accommodating 1,500 employees. The campus was constructed on the site of a decommissioned Army hospital, and the project incorporated 50% of the original hospital's concrete into the new facility. UC MERCED 2020 EXPANSIONMERCED, CAThe UC Merced 2020 Expansion project, designed by a team of renowned architects, including SOM, WRNS, HOK, Page Sutherland Page, and Mahlum Architects, is an extensive campus spanning 14 structures. The design-build/P3 project aims to support 10,000 students by 2020 by providing a wide range of academic and student life facilities. The project's academic space program includes 373,400 square feet of lab/research, instructional, and academic oce space. The Student Life program spans over 115,500 square feet and features health facilities, enrollment, dining, and recreational facilities. The project includes 420,570 square feet of outdoor space, including competition and athletic fields, making it a conducive environment for students to learn and engage in extracurricular activities. Additionally, the student housing program caters to the existing and future demand for on-campus housing and includes 1,700 beds spread over 289,600 square feet. Stand-alone parking is available, with a total of 1,571 stalls provided.The project's construction involved 200k lineal feet of utilities. It aims to enhance the university's capacity to support its student population while providing state-of-the-art academic and student-life facilities. GENISIS MARINABRISBANE, CAGenesis Marina, designed by Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill, provides Class A laboratory and oce spaces, a restaurant, and commercial recreation spaces over an open parking structure. It includes three structures, each five-levels above a two-story podium garage. The project is the world's first precertified TRUE Construction Site, adhering to zero waste and circular economy principles. Unforeseen conditions include refuse at the foundation layer that did not meet compaction or bearing requirements and oversized debris. The team developed a cement and lime treatment plan for the existing soil to meet compaction, significantly reducing the cost impact of added scope. Large debris was sorted, avoiding o-hauling as Class II while maintaining environmental standards. SFO PLOT 2 ROADWAY REALIGNMENTSAN FRANCISCO, CASFO needed to expand its airside real estate to accommodate larger aircraft, leading to the relocation of a segment of South McDonnell Road. Webcor was hired in a CMGC capacity and engaged upfront in engineering, design, and planning. The project involved relocating site utilities and constructing temporary and permanent roadways, taking four months to complete. Webcor reduced the initial cost estimate by 20% by involving trade partners in preconstruction and resolving design issues before fieldwork. MISSION ROCK HORIZONTALSAN FRANCISCO, CAMission Rock is an eight-acre mixed-use development project that includes residential, retail, community use, research and development, and parks and recreational space, built in four phases. The project is part of a more extensive 28-acre mixed-use master development. Webcor is leading the complete civil and infrastructure package for Phase 1 and is the master general contractor overseeing multiple general contractors.The scope of work includes demolition, excavation, densification, dewatering, underground utilities, elevation raising, site preparation, and finish improvements for several parcels. TOM LABONGE HEADWORKS WATER COMPLEX BURBANK, CATm LaBonge Headworks Water Complex project marks the initial phase of a new reservoir storage facility at the Headworks spreading grounds. The sprawling 43-acre location sits between the City of Burbank and Grith Park and is adjacent to the Los Angeles River. The project scope involves constructing a 54-million-gallon reservoir, utilizing 75,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place structural concrete, installing 6,000 linear feet of 96" diameter welded steel water pipe, and laying a 3,000 linear feet 18' diameter concrete-lined conveyance tunnel that runs underneath Forrest Lawn Drive.
