Waterlefe Artists Guild October 2021 ONLINE EXHIBIT presenting artist Lorna McMullen
Lorna McMullen lornamcmullen4@gmail.com I have always loved crafts and artsy endeavors even as a young girl and always believed in learning new things. I started piano lessons at a young age. In my 30’s, I received a certificate of piano pedagogy from Northern Kentucky University and enjoyed teaching for about 18 years. I graduated from Tulane University and was lucky to spend my junior year at the Sorbonne in Paris. It was here that I furthered my appreciation for art. Later in life, I started to take art lessons and went from oils to pastels, ending with my preferred medium, acrylics. A love of gardening and antiques was inherited from my mother which resulted in getting a master gardening certificate and acquiring a massive collection of beads and antique jewelry. This collection is used in my more recent love… fashioning dichroic glass into jewelry. So you see, throughout my life, I have been learning new things. That’s what keeps us young!
