Waterlefe Artists Guild December 2021 ONLINE EXHIBIT presenting artist Kathy Mulcahy

Kathy Mulcahy kathinflorida@gmail.com As I approached the pivotal life experience of retirement after almost 50 years in nursing, I considered what the next chapter of life might be…learning to play the piano or taking up painting. As sometimes happens, life presents us road signs for what direction to take. It just happened that Waterlefe held an evening paint party. That was the impetus to take the road that led me to explore various painting techniques, finally settling on acrylics and oils. I enjoy painting landscapes…from beaches to mountains, especially areas my husband and I have visited. My latest collection is a collage of visual memories or longings for future travel after the long year and a half of being homebound during pandemic. Painting became a way to travel beyond the four walls of my home and dream of times when we could once again be surrounded by family and friends and visit new places that we are yet to see and experience.
