I was born and raised in Turin (Italy), a citymore famous for Fiat cars than for the sea, but my desire to explore led me toward completely diff erenthorizons.After fi nishing my university studies, I embarked on an adventure in Australia, where, for the fi rst time, Iboarded a sailboat as a passenger. That experience had a profound impact on me, and once I disembarked, Imade myself a promise: one day, I would become a skipper.Today, years later, here I am, living and working in the paradises of the Caribbean, sailing between the U.S.and British Virgin Islands.I love exploring new horizons with my guests, sharing not just the route but also unforgettable experiencesand moments. What gratifi es me the most is seeing the connection that forms on board when we all becomea team, helping each other and showing the best sides of ourselves.When I see the joy in my guests’ eyes and know I’ve contributed, even just a little, to creating thosememories, I can say I’ve done a good job and made their vacation special. As a passionate Yacht Chef and Yoga Teacher withmultiple seasons of experience, Marielle combines herlove for the sea with a deep understanding of health,nutrition, and culinary creativity. After years of hostinglittle dinner parties for friends and family during hertime at University in Germany and a career inOptometry, she decided to trade the ‘normal’ for a lifeon the water.Over the years, she’s had the opportunity to cook andcater on sailing yachts in the most beautiful places,ranging from private charters to week-long sailingevents across the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Herculinary approach and love for mediterranean cuisinefocuses on healthy, fresh and locally sourcedingredients. She’s adapting to the preferences anddiverse dietary needs of her guests with ease, while alsodrawing inspiration from herbackground in yoga and nutrition. She also recentlyattended Ashburton's Yacht Chef Academy to continueelevating her culinary creations!When she’s not sailing, Marielle travels around theglobe (with sometimes only a backpack), where shecontinues to be inspired by the different cultures &local food scenes.
