So as you flip through this book, stretch out your bidding arm and plan to give generously at Wags & Whiskers Auction. The animals thank you.

Just as American music was doing everything new in 1969, Humane League of Lancaster County isn’t satisfied by the way animal welfare used to be done. In addition to sheltering and adopting thousands of pets with great success, we’re focusing on innovative and effective programs and services that are tried and proven to prevent animals from ever entering our shelter in the first place. We touch the lives of thousands of animals through our veterinary services and nationally recognized proactive PetNet programs like SAFE Haven and Ani-meals On Wheels.

David Gerbstadt graduated from Millersville University in 1992. It was in college that an art instructor encouraged David to declare as an art major. Without much influence before, David dove into the art world and never came back. David uses found materials in most of his art. His first love is painting on anything he can find. When people ask what kind of art he does, David says, “Paintings, drawings, sculpture, clothing, toys, ceramics, and so on. I make the art cus’ it’s in me and it has to come out.” David has shown his art world-wide and has collectors in Mexico, Germany, France, England, Poland, Italy, South Africa, Austria, Spain, Scotland, and U.S.A.

Danielle Fisher was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, but remembers her first clay experience at age 6 when her parents moved to Arizona. In first grade, her art teacher gave a shy new student a piece of cool, wet, red clay under a metal pavilion in the hot sun. The clay comforted young Danielle: remembering back at the warm sun shining on her cool wet clay and the way it felt, in that moment she knew then she was an artist.

Christine Leinbach has had a “love affair” with dogs for as long as she can remember, so it comes as no surprise that they are her favorite subjects to paint. Christine lived in Georgia and exhibits work throughout the US. Her work can be seen at
