Growing up in Montana spending time outside with my Dad was my favorite thing to do Riding horses bareback and barefoot was an everyday activity As I became an adult horses became that much more of a connection between us When my Dad could no longer enjoy being outside with the horses we began watching westerns together He has always loved them I still get so much inspiration for landscape paintings watching them RIDERS 5 X 4 oil on canvas

Painting cactus represents my new found growth Having recently lost my father and having my oldest go o to college in the same year I believe the cactus represent me turning grief into freedom and the ability to understand my own spirituality better I have always loved the desert and the South West American Native Culture enough to name my youngest daughter Kiva I love the dusted gradation of colors in the landscape the pops of almost neon owers the moody skies and the ghost like saguaros standing over the landscape like shaman SEDONA 20 x 20 oil on canvas
