Clean-up Buckets and Hygiene Kits Needed:

We have received word from Church World Service, a global relief organization, that following the recent hurricanes and earthquakes, there is an urgent need for clean-up buckets.  These buckets full of supplies will be collected here at the church and taken to a distribution center for shipment to areas struggling to recover from these natural disasters.       If you would like to participate in this effort click the link below to get a list of instructions on how to fill a bucket with needed supplies.  You can drop off your bucket at the church between 9 and 12 each weekday or bring them with you to worship on Sunday.  Thanks for your help!

While the need for Hygiene kits is not as urgent as clean-up buckets, there will be an ongoing need for these items.           If you would like to provide a hygiene kit click the link below for a list of what to include in your kit.                                   You can bring kits by the church office between 9 and 12 each weekday or bring them with you to worship on Sunday. Thanks for your help!

Thanks to everyone who gave to the special offering for Hurricane Relief that was taken during worship on September 17th.  Nearly $2000 was received and will go to Samaritan's Purse for relief efforts.  Samaritan's Purse has response teams heavily involved in the clean-up efforts following the recent hurricanes. Click the link below for more information about the relief efforts of Samaritan's Purse.

Begins Monday, October 9th at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary Chair Section.  Continues on Monday, October 16th and then every other Monday. For more information contact Bev Pounds at 724-845-7661 or Jenny Young at 724-568-1494.

The 5th Quarter is a ministry of the Kiski Area Association of Churches (KAAC) in partnership with the Kiski Area Youth Network (KAYN) to provide a safe environment for Teens to gather after Kiski Area High School home varsity football games.

This ministry is held at the closest location to Davis field which is the First United Methodist Church.  It meets after the game from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.  Pizza, snacks, beverages and a variety of games are available to the teens who gather.  An average of 150 to 200 kids gather at these events.

Volunteers are needed to serve as chaperones for the kids and help with providing a safe environment.  The churches of the area invite you to consider serving as a chaperone for any of these events.  Child Abuse Clearances are needed in order to serve.  Please speak to Rev. Galley if you have questions or would like to assist in this ministry.

Remaining dates are October 6th, and October 27th

All Vandergrift Presbyterian Church members are encouraged to attend the second of two forums with a discernment team from Redstone Presbytery following worship on Sunday, November 5th.  Your input and prayers are needed as the congregation discerns whether to remain in our current denomination or move to another Presbyterian denomination.

All members will be receiving a mailing with more information about the forum and the issues that have led the Session to prayerfully engage with the Presbytery in this discernment process.

Please plan to attend on November 5th.

Monday, November 20th at 6 p.m.

The Kiski Area Association of Churches (KAAC) will host a Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, November 20th at 6 p.m. at the St. Gertrude's RC Church Parish Hall.  A freewill offering will be taken to support the work of KAAC.
