9First DayLogging hours & rewardsIf you are in the Social, Welfare, or All-Access streams, we will start emailing youregarding upcoming events to see if youare available to help out. When you opt in for your first gig, we willmake sure your volunteer pack is readyfor you for when you arrive. Volunteer packs are also available forstudents in the Community stream, andwill be handed out to them when theyattend their first meeting. From your first day as a MONSU Volunteer, you willstart earning rewards! From that essential free coffeeevery shift, to gift vouchers, cool gear, and memorableevents, there is so much to get out of your experienceEvery hour you volunteer counts, so be sure to logthen after every shift.. We have an easy online formfor you to complete so we can keep track.

Safety management systems are developed,implemented and continuously reviewed foreffectiveness.Resources, including safe equipment and training isprovided to manage safety.Risks are eliminated wherever possible.Consultation is undertaken with management,volunteers, and employees on the development,implementation and refinement of our OH&Ssystems and programs.Provide and maintain a safe work environment forstaff, volunteers, contractors and visitors.Implement policies and procedures to effectivelyInvestigate and report on all incidents, includingnear misses.Monitor our team’s OH&S performance and strivefor continuous improvement.13We, as an organisation have a responsibility andduty of care regarding our volunteers andcommunity here at MONSU Peninsula. 14Ensure you only perform the duties you areassigned on the day. Some equipment requiresauthorised use, supervision, or number ofvolunteers to operate safely. It is important that youfollow these kinds of instructions to ensure yoursand your team's safety.Participate in OH&S training, consultation andinitiatives to improve health and safety.If you see witness a potential hazard, please notify astaff member or team leader immediately. MONSUPeninsula are responsible for the safety of events,its participants and volunteers. MONSU Peninsula Volunteer’sResponsibilities includeAs a MONSU Volunteer, you will become anidentifiable presence on campus as a representativeof our community. Whether you are seeking a leadership role, or if you arewanting to help create a fun, inclusive campus throughour programs, your role will come with certainresponsibilities you need to be aware of.TIPIf you are uncertain ifsomething is aproblem or not, it isalways best to saysomething.
15Be respectful to other staff, volunteers, studentsand external stakeholders. Issues regarding behaviour that is not deemedacceptable or appropriate by University or ourorganisations standards, you must report this toMONSU Peninsula immediately.Have an understanding of ours and industrystandards when it comes to the expectations androll-out of programs and events.Do not perform any illegal acts (generally speaking,don’t do it. But for the purpose of this document,we also don’t want you to do it during yourvolunteering).If you have your circumstances change and youneed to discuss changes to your shifts or role,please advise the Student Experience Coordinatorat the earliest opportunity.If something occurs that makes it difficult oruncomfortable for you to continue within your roleor volunteer stream, please inform the StudentExperience Coordinator at the earliest opportunity.If you have any questions regarding the following,please contact the Student Experience Coordinator.hailey.ruhland-phelps@monsupeninsula.org.au

To celebrate, you willreceive your own exclusive MONSU Volunteer Pack.These items will make up your uniform. Please take care of them as youwill be required to wear them during each volunteer opportunity. We also recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and clothing assome events may require you to work with food or carry heavy items.You are responsible for making sure your shirt is clean at the start ofevery shift.
