I wanted to learn how to speak and write in English. (Since joining Upland Adult School) I have gained confidence, improved mylanguage skill, grammar skill, speaking skill and writing. The following steps will get your started with registering and enrolling in our free classes for the High SchoolDiploma and GED program, and for the Upland Adult School/Chaffey College English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.For an Upland Adult School High School Diploma or GED course:Register in-person at 565 W. 11th Street, Upland, CA 91786, by appointment only. Call (909) 985-1864, ext. 21144 toschedule an appointment with Rosa Alatorre.Bring official, sealed high school transcripts. Our team will analyze any high school work previously completed and give creditfor those classes as appropriate.Complete a registration application.Receive an appointment to take the CASAS exam. The CASAS exam is a test of English and Math skills–no preparation isnecessary.After the application and the CASAS test are completed, a teacher will reach out to the student to begin offering course work,using online APEX courses. You are ready to begin! These classes can be completed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at thestudent’s own pace, and they are absolutely free.For Chaffey College ESL Courses:Complete the Chaffey College Noncredit Application. To apply visit www.chaffey.edu/esl/register.php.Scenario 1: You already have a Chaffey College ID and were an active student within the last year. You will need to log-into CCC Apply and complete a non-credit application for the next upcoming semester/session.Scenario 2: You do not have a Chaffey College ID, you will need to complete the Non-Credit Application. If you encounterany issues with the application, you can get assistance from the GPS Center.Receive your Student ID Number and Activate Student Portal. Adult students are kindly requested not to bring their children to class.2. Non-enrolled individuals, including visitors, are not permitted to attend classesunless explicitly approved by Upland Unified and Chaffey College administration.3. Food is not allowed in classrooms to prevent distractions & maintain cleanliness.4. The use, possession, or distribution of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited onschool premises.5. Pets are not permitted in classrooms, with the exception of service animals asrequired by law.These guidelines are in place to ensure that all students can fully engage in theirlearning experience in a safe and conducive environment. Prospective students interested in attaining theirhigh school diploma should begin by immediately requesting official, sealedtranscripts from the last school attended. Official transcripts may be obtained andprovided to the adult school be either plan below.Request an official record from transcript provider Parchment at www.parchment.comCreate an account or log-in to an existing accountRequest an official transcript be sent to Upland Adult SchoolIf your school or institution is not listed on Parchment, request an officialtranscript directly from the last school(s) attended. Official transcripts must bereceived by the adult school on an envelope sealed and stamped/embossed bythe school’s registrar.TITLE IX STATEMENTEach student and employee have a right to learn and work in an environment thatis free from unlawful discrimination. No district student or employee shall beexcluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject todiscrimination on the basis of actual or perceived sex, sexual orientation, gender,or gender identity or expression. Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972is one of several federal and state anti-discrimination laws that ensure equality ineducation.
