‘앞으로 한걸음 더 나아간다’ 2년전 나와 나의 가족은 많은 어려움을 겪게 되었다. 열심히 쌓은 인생의 업적이 물거품이 되던 그 때, 허무 하기도 하고, 걱정스럽고, 원망스러웠던 그 순간, 우리는 모든 부정적인 생각과 상황을 멈추고 앞으로 나아가기로 결정한다. 이번 전시는 앞으로 나아감에 있어 우리를 나아가게 하는 원동력, 또는 우리를 망설이게 하는 것에 대한 이야기이다. 나의 가족, 나의 친구들, 그리고 나의 하나님은 나를 앞으로 나아가게도, 나를 망설이게도 하는 존재이며, 힘들었던 시기에 나와 우리 가족에게 소소한 기쁨을 주었던 텍사스의 도마뱀은 희망의 상징이었고, 마침내 찾아온, 또 다른 기회의 장소에서 만난 플로리다의 공작새는 시작의 상징이었다. 때로는 뱀의 유혹처럼 더 좋아 보이고, 쉬워 보이는 길도 있었지만 쉬운 길을 택하기 보다 옳은 길을 택하려 노력했다 항상 나에게 도움의 손길을 보내주고, 두려움을 가려주고, 희망을 보게 하고, 다시 꿈꾸게 해준 하나님, 나는 이번 전시가 나와 가족에게, 또 한번 새로운 시작을 여는 계기가 되길 소망해본다. 너무나 힘들었지만, 뒤돌아보면 나에게 잘 맞는 옷을 찾는 과정이었고, 이제 나에게 딱 맞는, 나의 옷을 찾은 것 같은, 누군가의 눈에는 여전히 고생의 옷으로 보일지 몰라도 내 눈엔 it is rather dashing. 힘들어 보이지만 멋진 순간들 이었음이 분명하다. Moving Forward: It is rather dashing Two years ago, my family and I suffered many difficulties. When all the achievements were wasted, I felt empty, worried, and resentful. At that moment, we decided to stop all negative thoughts and move forward. This exhibition is a story about what drives me forward or makes me hesitate. My family, friends, and my God are the ones who drive me forward but at the same time make me hesitate. The Texas lizard that my son found brought us little joy during difficult times and was a symbol of hope, and the Florida peacock that we met at another place of opportunity was a symbol of a new beginning. In the meantime, like a snake tempting me, there was a way that looked better and easier, but we tried to choose the right way rather than the easy way. God, who has always sent me a helping hand, covered my fears, made me see hope, and made me dream again. I wish that this exhibition would be an opportunity for us to open a new start when we attempt to move forward again. Now I look back, and it seemed turbulence; however, it was a process of searching for the perfect clothe. It may still look like the clothing of hardship, but it is rather dashing to my eyes. Although it looked complicated, it was a series of unforgettable moments.
