About UsTSC University offers unique courses focused on practical expertiseand hands-on experience, providing students with an appliedknowledge and comprehensive understanding for the field applicationof oilfield tubulars (casing, tubing, drill pipe, and line pipe). Thesetechnical training sessions and extensive inspection certificationcourses are built upon Texas Steel Conversion, Inc.’s in-house trainingcurriculum, which is deeply integrated with their rigorous qualityprogram. The courses are rich with insights and expertise, accumulatedover 50 years of OCTG experience, and guided by our two ASNT Level IIIinspectors. Their collective knowledge ensures a comprehensive andvaluable learning experience for participants.1TSC University boasts cutting-edge facilities, including advancedlaboratories, state-of-the-art inspection equipment, an extensivecollection of field inspection samples, and work spaces designed toprovide attendees with practical, hands-on learning experiences. The active engagement andskill application practicedduring the courses fosters adeeper understanding. Ourcurriculum is designed toequip students with theessential skills for thriving inthe OCTG sector and thebroader Oil Patch industry.
Instructors of TSCRobert Mucka, the VP of TSCU and Quality Services, startedworking at TSC in 2007 as a metallurgical lab technician.Through the years, he has worked in numerous positions, including heat treat, forklift operator, rotary straightener, forgeinspector, EMI operator, OCTG ultrasonic inspector, and otherduties, before becoming a Quality Supervisor. After becominga Quality Supervisor, he obtained his ASNT NDT Level IIIcertification and oversaw quality production as well as thetraining of NDT inspectors at our Bryan facility. Later, hewould become the Plant Manager at our Almeda facilitybefore becoming the Quality Manager for all TSC locations.Allan graduated from Texas A&M in 2008 and started workingat TSC in 2014 as a Quality Engineer. Later, he would be ametrology Leadman, overseeing Testing, Measuring,Monitoring and Detection Equipment calibrations. Along withhis duties as Senior Metrologist, he works directly with TSCdrill pipe engineers, performing first-article inspections onTSC drill pipe connections.2Robert Mucka IIIASNT NDT Certification#205630Allan Orozco(Bilingual)
