Directors’ Notes Music Director Robbie Payne: In the early fall of 2020, three significant questions arose in a production team Zoom meeting. The first was, “Do we have a spring musical?” My first inclination was to proclaim a vigilant no but I did not succumb to that urging. Then came, “Where will the musical take place?” The answer to this was our very own La Mothe gym. A musical theater experience in a gym. (Hmmm, let’s see how that goes.) At this point, I’m wondering why can’t this be the time I’m experiencing Zoom issues. Finally, the question, “Do we do the musical we planned to do or do something else?” And here we are with a musical showcase instead of a musi-cal! We decided the show needed to allow for flexibility if cast or crew members became ill or had to quarantine and were unable to participate. A showcase would allow for adjustments if needed. Despite the challenges created by the pandemic, protocols, and budget restraints, our desire was for this showcase to be a testimo-ny that God is sovereign, the source of our joy, and as His children, we are blessed abundantly even in difficult seasons of life. The show songs, play, and choreography were carefully selected to entertain, inspire, and put a little sun-shine in your heart and mind. Many of our performers have never been on stage, have never sung in a choir or ensemble, and have never sung harmony. Some of our crew members have nev-er used a hammer, painted (outside of art class), used tools, or built things. Yet, God shows his mercy and love in raising us up and equipping us to do things we may not have imagined we could do. This musical showcase is the result of ex-ceptional collaboration among students, volunteers, faculty, teachers, production team, and ultimately God’s faithfulness to His children. “To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and pow-er, both now and forever.” - Jude 1:25 Choreography Director Kathryn Bailey: Welcome to the show! This is my first experience working with THS, and it has been a blessing getting to know this family. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be here. It has a been a wonderful experience working with this group of students that have such a diverse range of gifts and personalities! Everyone brings something so unique and valuable to the table, and I am grateful to have met every single one of these students. Thank you so much to everyone who has worked hard to make this a reality. I hope the show brings you joy and encouragement. Enjoy!

Musical Notes from Mrs. Behan and Mrs. Le Leux Ten years ago, a group of students approached their parents, who just happened to be the music teacher and the science teacher, and asked if they could have a musical at The Highlands School. Faculty, students, and parents worked together to start a beloved tradition that our whole community has enjoyed and cherished. This musical is a tribute to you and a pledge that we will continue to sing, dance, build, paint, entertain and use our gifts to glorify God. This year has been a journey with lots of ups and down, switch backs and turns. This is hard work, a true labor of love and our gratitude is immense for EVERYONE involved. THS loves the Musical!
