Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he hadrested from all his work which God created and made. Rested on the seventh day.1. Blessed the seventh day.2. He sanctified it.3.What is the first day ofthe week?answer: SUNDAYWHAT IS THE SEVENTH DAYOF THE WEEK? - SATURDAY NOTE: GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY (SATURDAY) NOT THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (SUNDAY) The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments2
After God rested upon the seventh day which isSaturday, did He set it apart as a day of rest for man?Revelation 14:7 Question:Why should we worship God?Question:So that we will not forgetGod, what did he do?Question:Exodus 20:8-11Again, what are the three reasons why God gave the sabbath to all men? To be rememberedHe hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious andfull of compassion. - Psalms 111:4 To worship HimSaying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of hisjudgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea,and the fountains of water. - Revelation 14:7To avoid make no idols nor graven imageLeviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up astanding image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bowdown unto it: for I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 26:2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am theLORD. The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments3Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man.Note: Meaning, not for the Jewish people only, but to all man. After God rested upon theseventh day which is Saturday, did He set it apart as a day ofrest for man?“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God,and give glory to him; for the hour ofhis judgment is come: and worshiphim that made heaven, and earth, andthe sea, and the fountains of waters.” Note: To worship him that made heaven, and earth, andsea, and the fountains of waters.John 1:3 & Mark 2:28 “All things were made by him; andwithout him was not any thing madethat was made.”“Therefore the Son of man (Christ) isLord also of the sabbath.”Remember the sabbath day, to keep itholy. Six days shalt thou labour, and doall thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath ofthe LORD thy God: in it thou shalt notdo any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thydaughter, thy manservant, nor thymaidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thystranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heavenand earth, the sea, and all that in themis, and rested the seventh day:wherefore the LORD blessed thesabbath day, and hallowed it. God included the seventh day sabbath inthe ten commandments.
Question:Acts 10:25-26Question:Acts 14:13-15Question:Revelation 14:7Question:Jeremiah 10:11Question:Psalms 111:4Question:Note: This is the reason why God includedthe sabbath in the ten commandments toremember the creator. There are some religious groupsthat believe Peter, one of theapostles of God, deserves to beworshipped. Is this true? And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him,and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myselfalso am a man. HOW DO WE KNOW THE TRUEGOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH ? God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwellethnot in temples made with hands; - Acts 17:24The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments4The pagan priest of Jupiter, upon seeing Paulhealing the sick people, planned to bring oxenand flowers to him for sacrifice.Verse 13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which wasbefore their city, brought oxen and garlandsunto the gates, and would have done sacrificewith the people. Verse 14 Which when the apostles, Barnabasand Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, andran in among the people, crying out, Verse 15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye thesethings? We also are men of like passions withyou, and preach unto you that ye should turnfrom these vanities unto the living God, whichmade heaven, and earth, and the sea, and allthings that are therein: Did Paul accept their sacrifice for him? No, whynot?“…..worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”Why are there gods that have not made theheavens and the earth? Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that havenot made the heavens and the earth, even theyshall perish from the earth, and from underthese heavens.Again, why did God give the sabbath to man ?He hath made his wonderful works to beremembered : the LORD is gracious and full ofcompassion.Romans 1:23, 25What happened when sin entered our world?Verse 23 And changed the glory of theuncorruptible God into an image made like tocorruptible man, and to birds, and fourfootedbeasts, and creeping things. Verse 25 Who changed the truth of God into alie, and worshipped and served the creaturemore than the Creator, Did God give us a sign to know Him?MORE ON THE OTHER SIDE
Question:Question:Luke 4:16So God gave the Sabbath to be a signbetween Him and man, indicating that Heis the Lord who sanctifies us.Question:2 Corinthians 11:4Ezekiel 20:12, 20Did God gave us a sign to knowHim?Verse 12 Moreover also I gave them mysabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD thatsanctify them. Verse 20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shallbe a sign between me and you, that ye mayknow that I am the LORD your God.The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments5Why do the majority of religions that believe inJesus also worship on Sunday rather thanSaturday? For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receiveanother spirit, which ye have not received, oranother gospel, which ye have not accepted, yemight well bear with him. And he came to Nazareth, where he had beenbrought up: and, as his custom was, he wentinto the synagogue on the sabbath day, andstood up for to read. Luke 4:16This is the gospel of another Jesus; the Biblecalls it another gospel, Sunday worship. And he came to Nazareth, where he had beenbrought up: and, as his custom was, he wentinto the synagogue on the sabbath day, andstood up for to read. Because there is another Jesus besides the true Jesusin the Bible.Galatians 1-9Verse 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removedfrom him that called you into the grace of Christunto another gospel: Verse 7 Which is not another; but there be somethat trouble you, and would pervert the gospelof Christ. Verse 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than thatwhich we have preached unto you, let him beaccursed. Verse 9 As we said before, so say I now again, Ifany man preach any other gospel unto you thanthat ye have received, let him be accursed. What is the difference between the two Jesusin their gospel teaching ?Mark 2:28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of thesabbath. The true Jesus his custom was, he went to the church on the sabbath day. While all the Christian churches worldwide, they worshipanother Jesus on Sunday:example:source: google imagesLuke 4:16And he came toNazareth, where hehad been brought up:and, as his customwas, he went into thesynagogue on thesabbath day, andstood up for to read.Question:If the true Jesus' custom was that he went tothe church on the Sabbath day, do we need tofollow Him? Yes! Why?1 Peter 2:21For even hereunto were ye called: becauseChrist also suffered for us, leaving us anexample, that ye should follow his steps: Acts 17:2Did Paul followd Jesus , he go the church everysabbath And Paul, as his manner was, went inunto them, and three sabbath days reasonedwith them out of the scriptures, 1 Corinthians 11:1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am ofChrist.
Question:Isaiah 66:22, 23Question:Question:Matthew 28:1Question:Matthew 19:16, 17How can we receive eternal life? Verse 16 And, behold, one came and said untohim, Good Master, what good thing shall I do,that I may have eternal life? Verse 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thoume good? there is none good but one, that is,God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep thecommandments. The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments6Note: Very clear. Jesus said, "If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments," and because the Sabbathis included in the Ten Commandments, there will stillbe Sabbath worship in the new heaven.Verse 22 For as the new heavens and the newearth, which I will make, shall remain before me,saith the LORD, so shall your seed and yourname remain. Verse 23 And it shall come to pass, that fromone new moon to another, and from onesabbath to another, shall all flesh come toworship before me, saith the LORD. While it is clear to all and freely admitted by allthat the Old Testament teaches theobservance of the seventh day of the week asthe Sabbath, the New Testament introducesanother day, the first day of the week, as theChristian Sabbath. IS THIS TRUE?The best way to arrive at the truth or falsity of thisclaim will undoubtedly be to study every passage inthe New Testament that speaks of the first day of theweek. In this way, we shall bring together the entireteaching of God's Word concerning this day. By doingso, we shall surely learn whether the first day hastaken the place of the seventh day.Has the first day taken the place of the seventhday in the New Testament?Where is the first time the first day of the weekis mentioned in the New Testament? In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawntoward the first day of the week, came MaryMagdalene and the other Mary to see thesepulchre. This event took place on "the first day of the week" and wasdiscovered when "Mary Magdalene and the other Mary" came "to seethe sepulchre." While the first day is mentioned here, it is given nosacred title or name. It is not called "the new Christian Sabbath," "thenew Sabbath," or "the Lord’s Day." It is called merely "the first day ofthe week."Mark 16:1, 2Verse 1 And when the sabbath was past, MaryMagdalene, and Mary the mother of James, andSalome, had bought sweet spices, that theymight come and anoint him. Verse 2 And very early in the morning the firstday of the week, they came unto the sepulchreat the rising of the sun. This verse serves as the introduction to the account of theresurrection of Christ, containing the historical record that He wasraised on "the first day of the week." The verse was not written toprovide any information about a change in the Sabbath but to givethe facts concerning the resurrection.Where does the New Testament mention thefirst day of the week for the second time? In the Gospel of Mark 16 : 1, 2It will be seen that this passage is the same historicalrecord of the resurrection by another writer, Mark. Heagrees with Matthew that Christ was raised from the deadand that this event took place on "the first day of the week."Mark does not give this day any sacred title or name; hedoes not say it is now to be observed as the ChristianSabbath in honor of the resurrection of Christ. He is entirelysilent regarding any sacredness belonging to this day; hementions it in his Gospel simply because he cannot write theaccount of the resurrection without mentioning it.So far from the first day being the Sabbath, thisverse makes it clear that it is not the Sabbath.Mark speaks of two days in this passage andgives their relation to each other. The day is the sabbath . 1.The other is the first day of the week. 2.One day is theHoly sacred day.One is merely one ofthe ordinary days.SundaySeventhdayNotice this: When "the first day of the week" comes, the Sabbath ispast. The New Testament clearly teaches that the Sabbath is the dayjust before the first day of the week, and that when the first daycomes, the Sabbath has passed. The New Testament Sabbath is thesame as the Old Testament Sabbath.
Question:Question:Verse 52 This man went unto Pilate, and beggedthe body of Jesus. Verse 53 And he took it down, and wrapped it inlinen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn instone, wherein never man before was laid. Verse 54 And that day was the preparation, andthe sabbath drew on. Verse 55 And the women also, which came withhim from Galilee, followed after, and beheld thesepulchre, and how his body was laid. Verse 56 And they returned, and preparedspices and ointments; and rested the sabbathday according to the to commandmentsLuke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto thesepulchre, bringing the spices which they hadprepared, and certain others with them. Luke 23:52-56, 24:In the New Testament, where can we find themention of the first day for t he fourth time? Holy Day HolidayQuestion:Mark 16:9Does the Bible mention the firstday of the week for the third time? Now when Jesus was risen early the first day ofthe week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments7Note: Mark again speaks of the first day of the week inhis Gospel, as follows: "Now when Jesus was risenearly the first day of the week." The verse does notgive the day any honor at all, speaking of it again as anordinary weekday.vsExodus 20:8-10Verse 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep itholy. Verse 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thywork: Verse 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath ofthe LORD thy God:Why is the Sabbath holy? This passage of scripture is important because itrefers to three days and clearly reveals their relationto each other. Of the day of the crucifixion, it is said,'And that day was preparation, and the Sabbath drewon.' This was the sixth day, the day of preparation forthe Sabbath, now called Friday. The next day isspoken of as 'the Sabbath day according to thecommandment,' which was the seventh day. The dayfollowing is called 'the first day of the week.'6th Day - Friday 7th DaySaturdaySABBATH1st Day - SundayQuestion:The first day of the week cometh MaryMagdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto thesepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away fromthe sepulchre. John 20:1Where is the fifth time, the first day ismentioned in the new testament ? Here again, by another writer, is the same historicalrecord of the resurrection. However, there is noSunday sacredness here. It is merely 'the first day ofthe week.' That's all.Question:Then the same day at evening, being the firstday of the week, when the doors were shutwhere the disciples were assembled for fear ofthe Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. John 20:19Where is the sixth time the first day of theweek is mentioned in the New Testament? Here, at last, we have the record of ameeting of the disciples on the first day. There is no doubt that "the disciples wereassembled," and it was "the first day of theweek." This verse has been made the basisof the claim that the disciples wereinaugurating the observance of the newChristian Sabbath by celebrating in areligious service the resurrection of theirLord. But the verse itself clarifies otherwise.
Question:The disciples were not assembled to celebratethe Lord’s resurrection. They were notassembled to inaugurate the new ChristianSabbath. For three reasons:"Then the same day at evening, being the firstday of the week, when the doors were shutwhere the disciples were assembled for fear ofthe Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."Their Master had been taken away and crucified."And we have the record concerning them"(Mark 14:40; Mark 14:50).They got themselves home, and when they werethere, they locked the doors. They feared theJews would find them also and deal with them asthey had dealt with Jesus Christ.Mark 14:40 And when he returned, he foundthem asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy),neither wist they what to answer him. Mark 14:50 And they all forsook him, and fled. The Sabbath in the Ten Commandments81These things are made clear in the verse itself. They were notassembled in a religious service, for the verse plainly declares they"were assembled for fear of the Jews" (John 20:19).Mark 16:10 And she went and told them that hadbeen with him, as they mourned and wept. Mark 16:11 And they, when they had heard that hewas alive, and had been seen of her, believednot. Mark 16:12 After that he appeared in anotherform unto two of them, as they walked, andwent into the country. Mark 16:13 And they went and told it unto theresidue: neither believed they them. Note: They got themselves home, and when they were there, theylocked the doors. They feared the Jews would find them also and dealwith them as they had dealt with Jesus Christ. They were not assembled to celebrate the Lord’sresurrection because they did not believe he was raised fromthe dead.Note: They did not believe he was raised is shown again by the factthat this was the very time when "Jesus himself stood in the midst ofthem, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."Luke 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesushimself stood in the midst of them, and saithunto them, Peace be unto you. Luke 24:37 But they were terrified andaffrighted, and supposed that they had seen aspirit. Luke 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are yetroubled? and why do thoughts arise in yourhearts? Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that itis I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hathnot flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Luke 24:40 And when he had thus spoken, heshewed them his hands and his feet. Luke 24:41 And while they yet believed not forjoy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have yehere any meat? Got themselves home, and when they were there, they lockedthe doors. They feared the Jews would find them also anddeal with them as they had dealt with Jesus Christ.2Note: They did not believe he was raised is shown again by the factthat this was the very time when "Jesus himself stood in the midst ofthem, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."They were all assembled because they all lived together.3Acts 1:13 And when they were come in, theywent up into an upper room, where abode bothPeter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew,James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. Where is the seventh time the first day of theweek mentioned in the New Testament?Acts 20:6, 7Verse 6 And we sailed away from Philippi afterthe days of unleavened bread, and came untothem to Troas in five days; where we abodeseven days. Verse 7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to breakbread, Paul preached unto them, ready todepart on the morrow; and continued hisspeech until midnight. Note: There is no doubt that this passage contains the record of areligious meeting on the first day of the week. And in this, it isunique, for it is the only passage in the Bible that contains such arecord. Because of this, it is worthy of close study. At this meeting,Paul and his company had stopped at Troas on their way toJerusalem.Acts 20:16 For Paul had determined to sail byEphesus, because he would not spend the timein Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him,to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost. Note: At the time this meeting was held, they had been at Troas forseven days.Acts 20:6 And we sailed away from Philippi afterthe days of unleavened bread, and came untothem to Troas in five days; where we abodeseven days. Note: And now the last meeting of their stay was called, and whilePaul was conducting it, his companions, having already bid farewell, were on their way by boat to Assos. Paul intended to walk to thesame city after this last meeting ended.Acts 20:13 And we went before to ship, andsailed unto Assos, there intending to take inPaul: for so had he appointed, minding himselfto go afoot. Acts 20:14 And when he met with us at Assos,we took him in, and came to Mitylene. Note: The meeting was held at night. There were many lights in theupper chamber.credits: freebibleimages.com
