THE SEPTEMBER 2020 Issue 1 POST NEWSLETTER A bi monthly newsletter published by your company WHAT S INSIDE President s Pen Project Highlight Subcontractor Spotlight Birthdays More President s Pen The 3rd week of September marks a 2 year notable event that I felt should be recognized NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION APPRECIATION WEEK This week long celebration seeks to build pride in the construction industry educating the public about the significance of construction and recruiting the next generation of construction professionals It s a process that requires the help of many to tell the story of American construction My story in construction began in 1998 I entered the industry as an assistant superintendent and moved forward throughout my 19 year career holding positions as general superintendent assistant project manager and project manager With a firm belief in diving in I began nurturing my love for both construction and business development by understanding key functions in the industry that led to developing Post L Group As a minority owned Commercial General Contracting Firm in the DFW Marketplace we ve face many challenges that we ve overcome through the support of great teamwork alliances that stood by our side as we grew and amazing projects that we ve had the opportunity to be a part of We ve partnered with larger firms that mentored myself and my team experiences that have been immeasurable I APPRECIATE CONSTRUCTION and so should YOU Celebrate with us the 3rd week of September the legacy of building NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION APPRECIATION WEEK Here are a few tips to show your support for National Construction Appreciation Week 1 Post your construction photos on social media using ThanksForBuilding and ConstructionAppreciationWeek 2 Tell those you know in the industry you appreciate their work It s a tough job and everyone deserves encouragement 3 Speak positively about the construction happening in your community Remember construction workers strive to make your life better

PROJECT CORNER by Cherie Thomas Project Manager Building classrooms for NORTH LAKE COLLEGE this summer was more than just building another set of walls During a challenging summer with a looming pandemic and academics at a very confusing state nationwide I knew we were building hope as much as we were the upgrade on the HVAC system new classrooms and office space With faithful crewmen balancing standard construction safety issues we joined together with new Covid Safety routines to ensure the health and safety for each other and our families While local merchant shelves were evident of stock shortages each of our vendors worked faithfully to locate and deliver material to assist in our delivery of the project on time and within budget With DCCCD hosting North Texas Food Bank and 1000 s of families in need with food distribution while we worked from 30ft lifts it felt a like a hope coalition The finished product has an extra element of satisfaction knowing we helped to lead the way and provide an encouraging outlook for teachers and students when they return Each classroom boasts wall length windows framing the endless rows of bookshelves sure to capture the curiosity and imagination of tomorrows learners Give us a call 682 312 7888 Post L is proud to be an awarded vendor of the TIPS buying coop benefiting both current and potential clients As an awarded vendor our clients are able to accelerate a procurement order and benefit from removing time and expense of competitively bidding for project simply because all RFP requirements are completed prior to becoming a member through TIPS stringent RFP processes ABOUT TIPS The Interlocal Purchasing System is available for use by all public and private schools colleges universities cities counties and other government entities All awarded contracts through the TIPS TAPS program have been Awarded under the Competitively Bid Process and received a Contract from TIPS TAPS Governing Board of Directors These Awarded Vendors have agreed to provide the best pricing terms and conditions available to TIPS TAPS Members Post L Group is able to provide school districts and other governmental entities opportunities for greater efficiency and economy in acquiring goods and services through our TIPS award
