On Wednesday, 6th November 2024, ISWK[Cambridge] hosted its much-anticipatedAnnual Junior Sports Day, a day brimming with excitement and boundless energy. Theoccasion was honored by the presence of Mr. Rasheed Mohammed Al Zuhibi, whopresided as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Said Al Habsi, acting General Secretary of OmanBasketball, as the Guest of honour. Complementing their esteemed presence weremembers of the School Management Committee, Principal Mr. D.N. Rao, and VicePrincipal Ms. Sowmya M S.The event commenced at 5:00 pm with a spirited torch relay, led by our youngeststudents, symbolizing the essence of sportsmanship and teamwork. The dignitariesformally inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp, a gesture that markedthe beginning of an exhilarating evening.A diverse array of sports events, meticulously curated by the School Sports Department,unfolded throughout the evening, showcasing the exceptional vigor, enthusiasm, andcamaraderie of the students. The Senior Annual Sports Meet of ISWK [Cambridge] was held with great zeal andexcitement on 5th December 2024 at the ISWK Primary ground. The event broughttogether students, teachers, and parents in an inspiring celebration of athleticism andteamwork. The meet was graced by the presence of the esteemed ManagementCommittee members, along with the Chief Guest, Mr. Nabil Al Busaidi, Chairman of theOman Rugby Association, Sultanate of Oman.The Sports Meet featured a wide array of track and field events, ranging from sprints andrelays, to exciting team games. Students competed with enthusiasm and showcasedtheir athletic prowess, cheered on by parents and peers alike. The thrilling relay racesand track events were some of the highlights of the day, fostering a spirit of unity andhealthy competition among the participants.The event also witnessed a remarkable march past by the senior students, reflectingdiscipline and synchronization. On 28th November 2024, the ISWK [Cambridge] U9 Boys and U12 Girls basketball teamsplayed friendly matches against Beaconhouse at their campus. It was a day filled withteamwork, sportsmanship, and impressive performances. U9 Boys MatchThe ISWK [Cambridge] U9 Boys showcased exceptional skill and coordination,dominating the court with their remarkable gameplay. They secured a resounding victoryover Beacon House with a final score of 8-0,demonstrating their dedication and teamspirit throughout the match. The ABLE Department proudly led this year’s#AntiBullying campaign with the powerfultheme “Choose Respect”. Students took astand through engaging activities like a skit,a pledge, and an inspiring collaborative “NoEntry” sign, boldly symbolizing our zero-tolerance stance on bullying. To celebrate individuality, we rocked *OddSocks Day*, reminding everyone that ourunique differences make us strongertogether. And, in an unforgettable grandfinale, our students joined forces on thebasketball court to form a giant “No Entry”sign — marking that bullying has NO placehere.Together, we’re making respect a campus-wide commitment!

Students performedskit which includesomani traditionaldance and highlightsthrough presentationoman's progressover the years invarious fields and itsrich cultural heritage.ASSEMBLIES Diwali AssemblyOn the 12th November, 8 Creators celebrated the festival of Diwali. Diwali, thefestival of lights is celebrated throughout India, and is iconic for its diyas anddelicious sweets. The assembly started with the prayer and was followed by the word of the dayand thought of the day. There was an informative skit prepared by the class of 8Creators, that informed the school about Diwali and how it is celebratedthroughout India.There was an exhilarating dance performance. The youngstars of Grade 3 Explorers took center stage,bringing to life the beloved tale of “The Grinch”.Their enchanting skit depicted the Grinch'stransformation from a grouchy loner to a warm-hearted soul, leaving the audience spellbound withtheir spirited performance and heartfelt message oflove and kindness.Adding a magical touch, Santa Claus made ajubilant appearance, accompanied by gleefulchildren who spread joy by distributing chocolatesand candies to everyone. ISB QUIZ--- PAGE 15 ---Indian School Bousher hosted anexhilarating Interschool Quiz Competition,featuring four categories. ISWK[Cambridge] students excelled, withJaden Eli Kondaveeti (Grade 2) and AryaShetty (Grade 5) crowned winners in theFoundation and Preparatory stages.Runners-up included Dheer Mehta, InaaraCoutinho, Ameya Menon, and Viraj Gupta.Manaal Fathima (Grade 7) and Zoey Sood(Grade 6) proudly reached the middlecategory semi-finals. The event,coordinated by Ms. Malvika Trivedi fromISWK [Cambridge], concluded with agrand finale on 16th November, wherewinners were felicitated.STUDENT LED CONFERENCEEY to A LevelISWK Cambridge recently organized a Student-Led Conference (SLC) on 7th December 2024,providing a platform for learners to take chargeof their academic journey. In this unique format,students presented their personal SWOOanalyses (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities,Obstacles) to their parents, showcasing self-awareness and reflective thinking.Parents engaged in meaningful discussions withtheir children, gaining insights into their progress,challenges, and goals. Educators facilitatedthese sessions, offering additional feedback andguidance. The SLC fostered collaborationbetween learners, parents, and educators,emphasizing the importance of student agencyand shared responsibility in learning. Our Early Years learners marked Oman's 54th National Day with a fun ClayModelling activity, crafting iconic Omani symbols like palm trees, camels,and the national flag. The event showcased their creativity, national pride,and developing fine motor skills. This year’s highly anticipated school trip was nothing short of spectacular! Organisedfor students from Grade 6 to Grade 10, the trip took us to a stunning resort nestled inthe heart of nature, where the excitement never stopped and the fun was endless.The adventure began with an exhilarating visit to the resort's themed adventure park.The students had a blast as they tackled the zip line, soared through the air withadrenaline-pumping speed, and challenged themselves on the rope obstaclecourses. The park was designed to push their limits and build teamwork and courage,and the students rose to the challenge with infectious energy and laughter.As the evening settled in, the group gathered around a crackling campfire, sipping onhot chocolate, enjoying the sweet treat of roasted marshmallows. The inaugural edition of Raneen, a contemporary artwork organized by theMinistry of culture.We had the privilege of accompanying our students to the Raneen Festival ontwo separate days, November 26 and November 27, 2024. The experience wastruly enriching, as the festival showcased an incredible array of installation art andmurals that left a lasting impression on both students and educators alike. Agigantic Moon model served as the main attraction for the museum, captivatingeveryone with its sheer scale and intricate details.During our visit, Mr. David Drake, a knowledgeable art expert, provided detailedexplanations about the various artworks on display. His insights offered a deeperunderstanding of the themes, techniques, and cultural significance behind thecreations. Our learners actively engaged with Mr. Drake, posing numerousthoughtful and relevant questions about the artworks and their importance.This interactive experience not only broadened the students’ appreciation for artbut also encouraged them to think critically and creatively about the role of art insociety.
