May 2020 Iyar Sivan 5780 parksynagogue org 216 371 2244 facebook com parksyn From the President A MESSAGE FROM SUSAN RATNER s all of us have been wondering and worrying about what the Anext day will bring it has been heartening to see our congregation getting together virtually adapting to the new temporary reality and keeping the core of who we are as a community In more normal times we band together as a community in person What has been most striking in these most abnormal times is our resiliency in keeping and even strengthening that sense of community even as we are physically distanced As I write this today we have been doing our programs online for three weeks We re having a zoom seder zoom services counseling and classes are all up and running All of us can see and interact with our clergy and staff up close and personal We are demonstrating that you don t need to be in the same room to be together In being apart we have all realized how very connected we all are And the feeling of all being in this together is palpable As we accommodate to the uncertainty of each day we still look to the future for Park Our most important focus is on everyone s good health The precariousness of these times has necessarily required us to pause our efforts to create the future Park Synagogue However we are prepared to hit the ground running when we can all get together in person By the time you read this bulletin many things will have changed and individually we will all be coping with whatever these changes bring The Park community will do the same thing working together being there for each other whether we are in the same room or not no matter what challenges the outside world presents I look forward to continuing our joint journey together solving the problems as they occur and looking toward the future for us all Susan Ratner Park Synagogue President susratner gmail com
