The main purpose of the NRA was recovery. It helped set fair- prices and it set the prices to help people recover from the great depression.

The national recovery administration lasted from 1933-1935

The national recovery administration or the nra was created to set limits as to how much certain products can be. This program was founded by the NIRA. The Great Depression recently hit and no one had money, therefore they couldn't pay for anything. The program was created to help those with no money recover from their bankruptcy. In the process they created minimum wages  and created the maximum weekly hours you could work.

In 1935, the U.S. Surpreme Court declared the NRA to be unconstitutional. Their argument said that the NRA broke the terms of the seperations of power that was under the U.S. Constitution. The NRA officially shut down that year. But some things from the NRA showed up later in the Wagner Act. Overall, it helped the growth of of unions.
