WHY WE DID THIS Hello hello dear reader Come sit down grab a drink and get ready to explore a world of wonder and intrigue We Seth and Tyler have been working on a shared universe together ever since we met at the beginning our first semester and it has grown beautifully This world Velaria is one of only many creations that lives within our universe While we would love to share our entire universe with you this one world will have to suffice for now We hope that you will enjoy your time on Velaria and experience the same wonder that lies within our minds

WORLD TREE An ancient arcane tree which rests within Earth s core Its branches stretch throughout the entirety of the world It began to rapidly grow after an alien magic slammed into the world A powerful arcane sap flows through the veins of the world tree and anything that comes into contact with it becomes greatly distorted by the magic

SPECIES LIST Humans Medium sized bipetal flesh sacks that breed like rabbits and seem to possess an innate ability die in droves Elves Not to be confused with elfs who live on shelves Elves are a mystical race who migrated here from the Feywild about 1500 years ago Elves still retain their connection with nature although not as strongly as elves still in the Feywild do Dwarves Seldom seen above ground Dwarves are an endangered species due to the rampart Depth Stalker attacks on their kingdoms forcing them to move around nomadically Demons Demons are beings originating from the realm called Infernal also called the Plane of Fire Hell and QuikTrip Most Demons one finds on Velaria are not the savage beasts and mighty arch lords one would picture but instead normal people just trying to live their lives and not get summoned by a cult every five minutes to end the world Depth Stalker Core Stalker Myst Stalker

SPECIES LIST CONTINUED Pyronians A bipedal dragon like race of elemental mages who hail from the world known as Pangea They are native to the continent of Pyrus Darconians The cousin species of the Pyronians who are native to the Continent of Darcus Angels Native beings from the Celestial realm the Angels of Velaria have lived here long since the awakening of the world tree Often called Angels Valkyries and other heavenly beings These beings are infused with the holy light of the Celestial Realm

THE MYST The sap of the world tree in the form of a vapor In small amounts the vapor can be inhaled to gain a magical charge which then can be used to cast spells However in large amounts it can cause devastating effects and can even warp space time Many people have disappeared after entering the Myst due to this ability The Myst forms when the sap of the World Tree comes in contact with the heat of the core After the Myst has be formed it begins to rise through the cracks in the crust Upon reaching the surface the Myst can remain in this gaseous form for millennia before returning to its original form and seeping back into the Earth

MYST STORMS In more humid and tropical Areas there is the possibility for Magical storms formed from the Myst The extra humidity allows the Myst to build up in Velaria s atmosphere In places with high volcanic activity the Myst leaks from the core in large amounts allowing for the formation of small but violent Myst storms Africa And Greenland are hit quite often due to these two land masses resting over entrances to the Depths which leak Myst out at a constant rate

ENDLESS SEA A sea of fog formed from the Myst which originates from the world tree s sap It acts as a gate way to other worlds though there is no telling where one might find themselves upon entering the deep fog Many who have entered the Endless Sea have never returned

MAGIC Acts Velarian Magic Hard Magic Soft Magic Nebulous Nebulous Acts are special abilities that are uniquely different for each individual that possesses one Due to an Olympian magic colliding with that of the world tree s an arcane Myst has spread throughout Velaria In some cases this has had devastating effects on the world For some however this magic would prove useful as a powerful tool The great heroes of old are theorized to be the first users of Acts Hercules The old Gods Etc

MAGIC CONTINUED Acts Continued Acts evolved from the harsh climate caused by the Olympian magic that slammed into the world of Velaria around 1600 BC Olympus Magic Olympian magic which is fueled by one s desires was sent over to velaria as a means of transportation This failed however as a great calamity befell them before they could escape The Calamity being the one known as Dust

NOAH STONEFRAY Act Aura Around Noah resides an energy field that he can manipulate at will It also grants him a 360 degree view of the world This makes it extremely difficult to sneak up on him In his earlier years he often found himself struggling with sensory overload When he was but a child he entered the Endless Sea and disappeared from Velaria And yet just as he disappeared his future self returned home Millions of years before his return he fought along side the Pyronian known as Nanok How he survived that long is anyone s guess Place Holder Noah in civilian attire

JACK RIVERS Act Vault A hereditary act Connected to his being is a pocket dimension which can be used to carry just about anything He mainly uses the dimension to store powerful weapons and artifacts he finds on his misadventures Jack Rivers is a young man and aspiring adventurer He became an adventurer for fun and excitement and despite the endless hoards of monsters he still manages to have fun

SHINON RIVERS Act Accelerate Shinon has the ability to accelerate her body and mind to insane degrees Allowing her to perceive time as if it is slowing down and move her body at ridiculous speeds Born to a harsh Mother Shinon and her twin sister Yuri were subject to harsh and competitive training to better strengthen them for the world outside As the ultimate test the sisters were forced to fight each other inside their burning home to see who was worthy of living Shinon was found in the debris of her burning home and was eventually adopted by Emily Rivers becoming Jacks sister as well

EMILY RIVERS Act Road Map Road Map is the ability to perceive the actions she must take in order to make it through any given situation Emily Rivers is a Texan native and a proud one at that So when the civil war started that threatened to split her state she signed up to help protect her home After a long time of fighting she came home but not content to stay in Texas any longer She moved up north where the rest of her family lived in Montana Inheriting the coffee shop from her Father when her sister declined the offer she felt like she finally had a purpose once again

SAM CREEK Act Authority Sam has an aura that surrounds her entire being Anyone that resides within this aura is compelled to follow her orders Sam Creek is the Pirate queen of Scrimshaw and controls most of the market which includes the black market

THE WORLD After the world tree began to grow many parts of the world were devastated by the sudden shift in the Earth s crust Much of Asia and Central America has been destroyed and Greenland has resin up into the sky as branches of the World Tree grew beneath it The western side of Africa has been affected in a similar way as Greenland

EAST TEXAS East Texas also known as New Florida split off from the rest of Texas after a massive civil war After the destruction of Florida caused by the development of the world tree the people of Florida were taken in by Texas Though things were peaceful at first eventually tension began to grow between the people of Texas and the people of Florida which eventually lead to war

WEST TEXAS A prideful yet welcoming state the people of West Texas are bitter over the loss of half of their state After the Floridians rose up and caused a civil war Texas has been divided via a large wall one that many in West Texas wish to see destroyed Its not all bad for West Texas however as it is home to the headquarters of the famous Adventurers League a place of study for aspiring adventures

SCRIMSHAW Scrimshaw also known as The Hanging City is a nest of pirates and thieves ruled by Sam Creek Scrimshaw acts as the central hub for the black market which has led to black market dealers being known as Scrims The people of scrimshaw are extremely competitive to the point that they are will to kill steal and lie to climb their way to the top Because of this it is not uncommon for there to be gang wars which sometimes get so bad that Sam must send some of her enforces to deal with the situation

CROSSROADS Crossroads a large Montana city that was founded by settlers in 1896 Crossroads is what one would call a crossroad in the nexus of the multiverse thanks to the large amount of Myst in the area This Myst oftentimes takes travelers and towns people alike to strange and unusual places The city has a diverse population of nearly every species imaginable Concept 1920 s

MIDTOWN The slums of Crossroads where all new comers gather This is the starting point for any who appear from the myst surrounding Crossroads Scattered throughout Midtown are old dilapidated buildings and cheep hotels The residence of this district usually live in tents and huts This district was originally meant to be a housing district

TALSONKEY S FORD DISTRICT Originally this was the wealthiest district in Crossroads However after the death of Talsonkey the founder of crossroads the district began to fall into ruin due to infighting between his subordinates Now all that s left of the wealth it once had is dilapidated manors and worn down monuments At the districts center is the remains of a once great statue depicting Talsonkey holding the banner of Crossroads In more recent years the district has gradually been taken over by massive industries

CROSSROADS DISTRICT The wealthiest district of the City you will find many monuments and statues littered throughout the district City hall resides in the district of Crossroads in the Eastern end of the area near the river Also residing in Crossroads is a branch of the Adventures League which resides inside the bend of the river and is bordered by the Wind Crossing District

SNOWDIN A small district in the city of Crossroads Snowdin was founded by one of the Expedition leaders Snowdin Upon reaching Montana they decided to settle down here mistakenly thinking that it was Canada Snowdin decided to name his part of the town after himself Snowdin as a district is similar to a small town in that everyone knows everyone Across Snowdin there are a few small businesses all fueled by a strong sense of community

WIND CROSSING Wind Crossing is a major trade center of Crossroads Thousands of shops and stalls are littered throughout the district Lightning road is the main highway that leads north into Canada It is considered the main trade highway and is surrounded by shops on either side The people who live in Wind Crossing are very completive and driven they know exactly what to say to get a good sale All manner of goods are profitable in Wind Crossing ALL GOODS If it exists it can be sold Property is extremely expensive in Wind Crossing not because of its own value but due to the high demand and shear ruthlessness of the economy

SNOWDIN CAFE Snowdin Caf a small quaint coffee shop is run by Emily Rivers who is a descendant of Snowdin the original founder Snowdin created the Caf and it has been passed down from one descendant to the next

HOLLOW VALLEY A large land mass off the coast of Africa Before the great cataclysm that marked the awakening of the World Tree this land mass was once a part of Africa Now it servers as one of the two largest gateways to the World Tree Beneath this land mass lays a section of the depths Because of this the land mass is constantly shrouded in the Myst

MYSTY VAIL A large city located on the western most part of Hollow Valley this city is responsible for most of the worlds magic items and artifacts as they are in close proximity to a near constant supply of magical resources in the form of the Depths Because of the abundance of magical resources the town has grown rapidly despite the fact that the town is almost constantly under attack by beasts which rise from the depths which is accompanied by the threat of Myst storms To combat these conditions a massive wall lined with anti magic runes carved into the surface was constructed This has lead the city to becoming the most fortified place on Velaria

HELHEIM GREENLAND A land shrouded in Myst storms any who once lived here have long since passed from this world After the awakening of the world tree Greenland began to rise out of the sea As the branches pushed it up towards the sky Myst began to pore out causing massive Myst storms that devastated the local population Now due to Greenland being surrounded by Myst storms and held in the sky by the branches of the world tree it has become isolated from the rest of the world Those who have gone and survived the journey say it is a barren wasteland of snow and ice inhabited by monstrous beasts This has lead the land once known as Greenland to be renamed Helheim

THE DEPTHS Beneath certain parts of the world where the World Tree has torn the crust asunder are places known as the depths Within the depths is an endless labyrinth of thick branches and earth filled with monstrous creatures mutated by the sap of the World Tree The depths lead all the way down to the core where the main body of the World Tree resides One of the main residents of the depths are the Depth stalkers They re reptilian creatures With flower shaped mouths that move on all fours yet can stand up right and use hand like structures to grab on to objects Inside their mouths is a long tongue it can use to pull things into its mouth There are three different variants that can be found throughout the branches of the world tree

DEPTH STALKERS One of the many beasts that reside within the depths The Depth Stalker is not to be trifled with due to high mobility and capacity for stealth If you are attempting to combat a Depth Stalker do not split your group It has been known to mimic voices and lead adventures into traps Surface Variant

CORE STALKER The Core Stalker which is a variant of the depth stalker is far more dangerous than its surface dwelling counterpart On top of being able to mimic voices it can also casts spells that it has heard through mimicry Which only add to the threat of its curse bite venom which can cause any number of magical effects So far it has been recorded that the Core stalker can remember up to 5 6 spells that it has heard Core Variant

CORE STALKER CONTINUED MYST STALKER Those few Core Stalkers who consume large portion of sap from the world tree become Myst Stalkers They can vary in size from being a few feet larger than a typical Core stalker to being the size of the Eiffel Tower On rare occasions they have been reported growing over 2 000 Ft Tall When a Myst stalker of this caliber emerges from the depths a state of national emergency is issued This is due to their high body temperatures causing Myst storms to appear around them as the sap within them evaporates All available adventures are then ordered to converge on the location of the Myst Stalker Even then they are difficult to take down as they are usually not alone The Myst Stalker has been commonly referred to as a living hive as many Depth stalkers and Core stalkers can be found living within opening in the Myst Stalker s flesh When a Myst stalker is attacked it release a certain pheromone which informs its inhabitants of the coming danger The Core and Depth Stalkers will then Descend from the beast to engage the threat Luckily those few that get that big do not last long due to the lack of food sustain that size of a life form

MYST STALKER PREVENTATIVE MEASURES Caravans of adventures are sent into the Depths on a weekly basis in search core stalkers who have the potential to become Myst stalkers If one is spotted that meets the requirements needed to become a Myst Stalker it is to be hunted down with extreme prejudice Anti magic wards are to be placed in areas of high Mist Stalker activity to negate the Myst storms produced by the beasts If you begin to experience earthquakes at a frequent rate in an area of low volcanic activity report it immediately as this could be signs of a Myst stalker rising to the surface If it confirmed that a Myst Stalker is rising to the surface in a populated area then all civilians must be evacuated immediately and they are prohibited from entering the area from which the beast will emerge

CORE STALKER DRUIDS There is a race of druid that live near the center of the world tree who have become its sworn defenders Any who dare threaten its existence must face their wrath These druids see the Core Stalker as the apex predator of the Depths and thus have chosen to take its form for use in defending the world tree They wield all the same powers and abilities a normal core stalker has on top of their abilities to control nature itself which allows them to summon Depth Stalkers and even Core Stalkers to their side
