Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland1. November 2022Introduction OsloI was born a summer day in 1966. July 30’th. My father, HåvardRian, was a lecturer in special education at the University of Oslo. Mymother was a psychology student at the same place. My father died May 17’th, 1970. On the birthday of Norway. Aday of celebration, flags and happy children. To me, a day ofremembrance and introspection, though that changed when I gotchildren of my own.In retrospect, I see that I was a born healer. When I was three, mymother had invited three friends to finger-paint. We all ended up amess, so Reidun decided that we should have a bath. To entertain us,we got bottles to play with. Glass bottles. One broke. A girl was cut, and I stopped the bleeding. We moved from our apartment in Oslo to student housing, Sognoutside of Oslo. My mother was in many ways wise, but not alwayspractical. She had hung up a swing in the stairway. With stone steps. Ifell, and landed on my head.Luckily, I had a strong constitution even back then, so I only got aconcussion. And, if my memory serves me right, a hole in my head.VossWe moved to Voss, a town with deep traditions in many ways.Reidun worked as a school psychologist, and she was not impressedby the local kindergarten. So, she put an ad in the paper, asking ifThe Glass Onion, Page 2

December 2021there were any farms nearby that would like to have a four year old boystaying with them during work hours.I ended up in a family filled with music, children and love. The father, Olav, was the headmaster of the music school in Voss, and a teacher of accordion. I started taking lessons with him, and keptplaying until we moved when I was eight. Here, I got a connection with the beauty of nature. I got kicked inthe face by a cow, teaching me respect. And I was given a deep love ofmusic, and its power to change minds. And … I asked my mum to read me the Bible. I started readingwhen I was three, spelling out the names of stores and headlines innewspapers - my dad was quite proud, just as he was when I had beencognitively tested by Norway's prime authority on child psychology,Aase Gruda Skard, on stage in front of the psychologists-to-be. I got adecent score (New URL: PoeticGenius)But I wanted my mother to read the book. And she had to start atthe absolute beginning.Åmot, TelemarkIn Telemark, I got a “new dad”. My memories of him are limited toscorn, denigration, and his way to teach me how to swim. By tossingme into deep water. My mother had to dive and rescue me.I was eight. The Glass Onion, Page 3

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021He did give me a precious gift, though. A sister, Karen. I already had one, but she was my father’s daughter out of wedlock, and she was not told I existed until she turned 18. Telemark was a place where you were either in or out. I was way out. Parents on the fringe left, so far out that they both were registered with the authorities, and less of a hive-mind than most… so I learnt the grace of solitude. Strangely enough, I got a “Top Secret”, and later, “Cosmic Top Secret”, clearance when in the Navy. I became a voracious reader, plowing through most our school library in a couple of years. Being an outsider led to bullying. I ended that one day when I was 14. The bully had thrown me to the ground, it was winter. I remember the “click” in my brain saying “OK. Enough is enough”, then I saw myself flying up from the ground, fist first, landing on his jaw. His look of surprise when he went down … priceless. Next school year I became the head of the student council, the school DJ, and was not such an easy target. Fetsund Let's fast forward a few years. I was 17, and started working in the institution my mother led. I was supposed to clean the kitchen and floors, but instead I worked with a young client. According to my mother, the most challenging client within the autism spectrum in Norway. The Glass Onion, Page 4

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021I worked with him for 10 years. I can’t imagine a better school for becoming a therapist. Skjetten Got married in 1993, a marriage that lasted 25 years, and brought me three children. Two boys, Aleksander & Isak, and one girl, Anna. And a woman, Beate, whom I still consider my best friend. In 1999 I needed a break from social work, so I got a job as web designer and marketing specialist, working with mobile entertainment and text messaging services. When I left in 2005, we had 450.000 members and 20 employees in four countries. Got a child welfare bachelor in 2008, started on a master in social work in 2010, but writing my thesis was disrupted by a job. With the highly sensitive client. That was also when I started using dogs in therapy. Cooper Frost, seen here: Surroundtherapy - Diagnosis: human. Cooper was a Flatcoated Retriever, a puppy when he started working with me, and the best colleague I have ever had. In 2016 I helped start an institution for single minor immigrants. One of the most challenging - and best - jobs you can imagine. I still get to partake in their lives, through Snapchat and Facebook. They are my second family, as are all the hundreds of youth I have been blessed to work with. Travelling Scandinavia The Glass Onion, Page 5

Page 6

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021In 2018, after having worked in various institutions in Aleris, I had to quit. I saw that there were too many errors done. Children were hurt. I had a meeting with the top brass in the company, and left. With them labelling me as “mentally ill”, yet taking my critique very serious. Then I started traveling. Went where my intuition led me, and worked with music and healing. Many beautiful moments resulted, and some challenges: I knew that my dog had cancer. Two years before the fact, in 2017, I started treating him with nutrition and special supplements. Flatcoated Retrievers are genetically disposed for cancer… We spent most of 2019 in my car, except for Christmas when I stayed with friends. Sometimes, it was cold, but the lack of a toilet and shower was worst. In May Cooper became seriously ill. I took him to the vet, who wanted to give him a kill-shot. He had a hemangiosarcoma in the heart sack, probably metastasised from a tumor in his spleen. I almost had to fight to get him out from the vet's office. Then, I worked with him. He slept in my lap in the car, had his heart sack emptied of blood at another clinic, and played a lot. He also got to say goodbye to two of my kids. After 14 days of healing and playing, running in the forest, he started walking slowly when we walked back to the car from church. I sensed his end was near. We drove to a friend, made a stop to let him drink and walk in a river, and then he died looking into my eyes. Just the two of us, in a little glade in a forest. The Glass Onion, Page 6

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Then, May 9’th, a new dog entered my life. A Belgian Shepherd, Trollheads Nessi. After two tries, she had found her forever family. Ed, Sweden Currently, I live in Sweden. A small town called Ed. Its main claim to fame is a baptismal fount from the 13th century, a lot of viking graves, and a nature so beautiful, it surpasses most of the places I have visited in Sweden. And, thought Swedes are Swedes, which means that they “cater to authority” and tend to be a bit fearful when they meet people who are “outside of the box” - a lot of lovely people. One might say, living without even knowing where the walls of the box are, that is my life. I am not a great fan of labels. Still, I tend to label myself. Let me be totally honest, as is my way. I have been here before. Many, many times. I have gone through a number of incarnations. I have been a small girl, dying in a rice paddy in Vietnam. I have been a king. I have been an abuser. I have been abused. No matter what incarnation I have been in, I have ended up a warrior. Still, what I remember is the love. For that is what we leave behind, and it is also what we bring with us. Love is the energy that moves the universe. Love is beyond time. The Glass Onion, Page 7

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 1 We are creating the Brain of God A brain is made of axons, dendrites, synapses and the various regions and lobes of the brain. Through myelination, the action potential is increased. Each part of the brain has a function, all three components of the triune brain. The brain was in homeostasis when we were born. At balance. All systems optimized for learning. When you measure the brainwaves of a child, you will see that they are dominated by alpha waves. Then, through a process known as “synaptic pruning”, our brains solidify. And grow. And … in some, lose the potential of learning. When we reach the age of 25, it is set in its ways. God is outside of time. I believe that most religions agree on this, whether they are mono- or polytheistic. God is all-encompassing. That which binds everything together in a cohesive whole. The fact that God is “outside of time”, may be a concept that is difficult. My perception is that God is constantly created. And that the universe goes through cycles. Perhaps we are in a time of synaptic pruning? Does this have a practical application? The Glass Onion, Page 9

Page 10

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Yes. Because we are part of the process. Dear reader. What is your contribution to God? When your night dawns, what will you bring into the divine? Love or apathy? The choice is yours. The Glass Onion, Page 10

Page 11

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021The Loneliness of God It was … empty. Dark. As in – a total absence of light. An absence of everything. And God was lonely. The Glass Onion, Page 11

Page 12

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021He considered, reflected, prayed. What could be done? He took a rib from his ribcage. Moulded it. In his image. And made a friend. He called him Adam. He created a lovely garden for Adam. A place of abundance. A place of scents and flowers and food. But Adam was lonely. And he prayed to his father. He prayed for a friend to fill the hole in his heart. The Glass Onion, Page 12

Page 13

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021And God, being a good father, acted. He moulded a rib from Adams ribcage into a being of love. A being of light and kindness. A creature that would sway Adam by her eyes, her scent, her taste and her sole existence. And God called her Eve. Together, they played. Their garden was a place of living wonders, of animals who lived in harmony. Waterfalls misted the sunrise, creating double and triple rainbows. In the evenings, the swaying palms bowed to let them pick their sweet fruits. But there was something missing. Something vital. Unity. Like three magnets seeking their counterpart, they longed for unity. For the feeling of togetherness. And Adam and Eve explored. Because God was a busy god, and though he replied to their prayers, it often took a little while. So, they found allies. Playmates. One they called brother. One they called sister. Brother Dog was a fierce warrior. A samurai, proud. Always happy to see them. Sister Cat was more independent. She came and went. Sometimes, she let them pet her. Sometimes, she didn’t. If they were hurting, she sang a sweet purr for them. And they felt better. Brother licked their wounds when they needed healing. And as he had sharp senses, he heard what they couldn’t hear. Smelled what they couldn’t. And, just like sister, he could feel their emotions, and sometimes acted on their behalf. Life was. And, in the garden, not much changed. But then one day, a snake appeared. And his name was lust. The Glass Onion, Page 13

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 2 Lust … also known as Greed I just gave Trollheads Nessi a rawhide bone. She is adamant - that bone must be eaten as fast as possible.! It doesn’t matter to her that the bone is so hard, her gums starts bleeding. She gnaws and gnaws, devouring the bone with her long teeth. Because if she doesn’t eat it now, someone may come and take it away from her. Nessi is a rescue dog, and has lived in two families before she came to me. She has had some rough experiences. Right now, humanity is on level with Nessi. We devour the planet. We gnaw away at species, cut down the rainforest, spew out toxic The Glass Onion, Page 15

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021gases, kill our neighbour over conflicts regarding natural resources such as oil, minerals and gas. Even humans are considered a means to profit. Trafficking is on the rise. Modern day slavery can be seen in many nations. Religion and culture is used to dehumanise groups, making them “worthy of exploitation”.! Yet, there is hope.! LinkedIn is a special network. A gathering of the worlds best and brightest. Being on LinkedIn, is part of an elite group. Sure, there are people here - as anywhere - who are imposters. Scammers.! But there are so many shining beacons here, who in spite of their own struggles, in spite of struggling to get out of bed in the morning, logs onto LinkedIn to pay it forward.! I call myself a Buddha. And those who have heard me sing Christian worship may think “what is the matter with this guy? Shouldn’t he stick to his incense and mantras?”. Nope. Because I am not concerned with religion and humans trying to define “the right path” for others.! And when I meet someone, no matter if they are fighting for rescue-dogs right to live, women’s rights to equality, the fact that Black/Blue/Human lives matter or the cause that I have fought for my entire life: that all children has a right to live free from exploitation, in an environment of respect and love - it gives me hope.! Greed is a parasite that infects the human psyche. A mindworm that rots that which is humane. It has become a part of Human Nature, to say it with the immortal words of the King of Pop. The Glass Onion, Page 16

Page 17

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Greed may be a part of human nature. But does it have to continue this way? I don’t know. But I can’t help but wonder ... the world is fighting against a molecule. Billions upon billions of dollars are devoted to fight against a non-living part of nature.! In some nations, the Corona-panic is used as an excuse to control the population. To impose draconian sanctions.! When will we stop? Consider this: if all the 600 million people that create LinkedIn simply said "NO! No more exploitation! No more wars! No more hate! No more division!". We have the power. You have the power. If you wish, you can change the world. Ask yourself: "What is the smallest change I can make that will make most impact?" Start there. Parenting We all have a responsibility in the world. And ... there are so many causes. So many things to fight for and against. But, and this is a big but, there is one prime directive. One cause that supersedes all our previous directives about "conquer nature", "conquer the planet", "understand life, God, and science". The Glass Onion, Page 17

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Kahlil Gibran said it beautifully, in his talk about children: •We don't own their bodies. •We don't own their minds. •We don't own their souls. In Norway, a debate is raging. In one camp: the Child Welfare System (CPS) and children. In the other: hurt parents and children. In the middle: the courts, including the European Court of Human Rights. And children. What all parties seem to have missed, is that they are fighting the same cause, on opposite fronts. So, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. This is your task on Earth: With every tool in your toolbox, every cell in your brainbox, every breath in your being: Become the best parent ever. Educate yourself. If you need inspiration, check out my personal mentors and influences. Let me give you a little hint .... You are already there. You just don't know it yet.We all must fight the good fight. And fighting for peace may seem counterintuitive. But ... it is the only fight worth winning. Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 3 TruthSeeing Human beings have found many ways to classify themselves. IQ, EQ, various personality tests such as Big Five and a multitude of diagnoses. To me, there is one truly important aspect of the human condition that is more important than any other. Our ability to discern truth. We come into the world, all ready to sense the wonders. We have our ancestors in our DNA and our history, a huge line stretching all the way back to Ethiopia and Lucy. The first mother. We are all blessed with a different toolbox. Some of us have gifts within creativity. Others know how to connect with others. Some are here with a mission to allow others to help them. And neither of these - or the other 7.800.000.000 that exists on Gaia - is more or less worthy. Just different. It is part of our makeup that we wish to understand. Humans have wished to find "truth" in many different ways. In God. In nature. In love. And our ability to see the world differs. See the truth. Here is my first attempt at creating an equation for measuring the ability to find truth. f(a) = a1+a2+a3+a4+a5 a consists of five variables with a value between 0-20.!These are: The Glass Onion, Page 20

Page 21

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021•a1: The acuity of your various senses (the resolution). Example: the density of cone cells in the retina, the details your hearing can detect. “Absolute pitch” is an example of high acuity. •a2: Your memory. “Eidetic memory” is an example of this variable approaching optimal. The resolution of your memory is another factor that counts. How thin slices can you make of your past? And how many senses does it include? •a3: Your cognitive functions: your ability to learn from the analysis of actions, situations and other input, and your ability to create meaningful and relevant responses. •a4: The width and breadth of your knowledge. Are you a specialist or a generalist? A professor or an autodidact? •a5: Your ability to “see within” yourself (accurate self-analysis) and others (mentalism) and to relate it to your environment. Perhaps better explained by an example. My dog, Trollheads Nessi. In the picture, with my neighbor Unn-Kari Aasebø, 82. Her acuity is extreme in some parts of the sensory spectrum. She sees movement at a distance, smells details at a resolution we can’t fathom, senses the energy of other beings, and her vision is in a spectrum (down into the ultraviolet, allowing her to see the markings of other dogs) different than us. I give her a 18/20. Her memory has limits, boundaries set by her cognitive abilities. However, after appropriate reinforcement, she is definitely able to learn, and her memory is not that of a bird: she can remember seemingly thin slices. 12/20. The Glass Onion, Page 21

Page 22

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Cognitively, she is limited as she divides the world into few categories. Can an object/being be eaten, played with, killed, fornicated with or should it be ignored? 8/20. Knowledge-wise, she is also limited. However, her reactions to people indicates that she is fully versed with a range of emotions. 7/20. Seeing-within: this is very contextual. When we are indoors, the needs of Nessi is to be with me, to be petted by me, and to be fed. And sleep. Outside, she maps her environment, taking note of prey, The Glass Onion, Page 22

Page 23

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021caches of food, and other important information (such as the health status of the dog next door). Outdoors, she is not very attuned to my needs to stay on my feet (it is slippery in the fall) or that I don’t want her to protect me from cars driving past. Indoors, she is on my level. 9/20. Total: 54/100. 54%. Not bad for a dog.! But the chances that she will discover the Truth of the Universe isn’t overwhelming. Dogs live at an accelerated pace. Their short life span means that the souls they contain can not be concerned with all the details humans deem important. The Glass Onion, Page 23

Page 24

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 4 Sexuality For millennia, women have been told to suppress their sexuality. In some cultures, it comes to extremes: •Cultures of genital mutilation •Cultures where women are forced to cover their beauty, and infidelity is met with stoning •Cultures where “the walk of shame” is an expression. As often is the case, suppression leads to the pendulum going to the other extreme: Sexuality as a commodity. “Hook-up culture” as personified on apps such as Tinder and Happn. The most beautiful gift our creator has given us, turned into sweaty one night stands and “players” of both genders. Where having sex has less significance than shaking hands and swapping bodily fluids. If we look at the situation from a biological perspective, gender tension can be understood as men having the imperative to sow their seeds as wide as possible, and women needing a partner and provider. Biologically, that is. Because most people enjoy having sex. But the fact remains. One of the most enjoyable ways to train your body is to have sex. So … let love rule. The Glass Onion, Page 24

Page 25

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 5 Dugnad against Suicide “Dugnad” is a Norwegian word with no English translation that covers its nuances. A discussion of the term can be found here. An excerpt: If you type “dugnad” into Google Translate, it suggests ‘voluntary work’. While this translation certainly is not incorrect, it does not quite grasp the essence of this – admittedly very Norwegian – concept. … It’s an old tradition. The term comes from old Norse –!“dugnaðr " – with means ‘help’ or ‘support’, but it was during the 17th century that it became an organised form of work. Norway’s encyclopedia, Store Norske Leksikon, defines dugnad as!‘voluntary, unpaid work that is done together’. This ‘together’ is key. You don't do a dugnad all by yourself, that's why the 'voluntary work' translation doesn't really convey the real meaning of the term.! Anyway, here is my own translation of my original Norwegian article. I have added a personal note towards the end. For some of you, it may be oversharing. But it is part of my life. I'm a humanist. In the sense that I believe all people have the right to a full and worthy life, where equal rights for women and men are self evident. The Glass Onion, Page 25

Page 26

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Unfortunately, this is not the case today. In the most extreme expression of despair, suicide, men are in the lead. Why is suicide so much more prevalent among men? At the bachelor's program in Child Welfare in 2005, we had a dialogue seminar. There we learned that "why" was a difficult question, a question to avoid. My answer? "Why?". We must dare to face the difficult issues. The global situation requires that. And to get into such a difficult matter as suicide, is something we need to do. For we have no one to lose. In Norway, or in the world. What is happening in Norway now, that also can be seen worldwide? Domestic violence is increasing dramatically. People die alone. Children suffer. Same with people with mental challenges. Operations and medical exams have been postponed. NAV (Social Services) and Namsfogden (a governmental debt-collection agency) are being overrun by people who are about to go bankrupt. Dedicated people in culture and sports struggle to survive, and the situation for independent artists is precarious. And creative people are particularly vulnerable to suicide. According to the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten / FHI, 650 people took their lives in 2020, not far from the peak we saw in 2018 (673). In the age group 25-29, there has been an increase of 34 The Glass Onion, Page 26

Page 27

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021percent from the previous year. Many deaths classified as “drug overdoses” are suspected to be camouflaged suicides. The numbers worldwide show the same trend. In the US, we saw a 56% increase in the age group 10-24 (2007-2017). In 2018, suicide was the tenth most common cause of death, and in the age group 10-34 it is in second place. Is it time to take this issue seriously? We have to think outside the box. And we cannot afford to wait. Suicide is not an individual problem. The consequences for a family and for the society are catastrophic. According to the WHO, there are 20 times as many suicide attempts as suicide. With all the fear this entails, and the effects that spread like rings in water - often with more suicides as a result. !STATUS TODAY The Norwegian government has introduced a zero vision for suicide. Their action plan has six objectives: Goal 1: Systematics and integrity in the suicide prevention work Goal 2: Safe communication about suicide Goal 3: Limited access to suicide methods Goal 4: Good help and good treatment courses for people at risk of suicide Goal 5: Immediate and long-term follow-up of survivors after suicide The Glass Onion, Page 27

Page 28

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Goal 6: Better incidence rates, increased research, knowledge and expertise on suicide prevention The document states:! The government will establish a national forum for suicide prevention consisting of national and local authorities, knowledge and competence centers, specialist health services and users, relatives and survivors' organizations. The forum will follow developments in the field and propose adjustments to the measures when we gain new knowledge. !"Propose adjustments"? Does this mean another committee without the necessary mandate to be able to demand change? The action plan has many good thoughts and visions. Unfortunately, it is also characterized by "should", "ought to", "need for more knowledge" and "information campaigns". In other words: "we do not know why so many people take their own lives, so we have to set up a commission to discover more". Information campaigns do not stop a person from committing suicide. Hope and concrete measures do. "Zero visions" are often just that. Unattainable goals. We have seen this clearly in the Reagan era's 'war on drugs', in the US prohibition period, and a number of other national and international campaigns. And although it is important to have a vision in political work, action is also needed. The Glass Onion, Page 28

Page 29

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Taking into account the increasing disability figures (10.5% of the Norwegian population in the second quarter of 2020), the increase in addiction and psychiatric problems, concerns raised by child welfare and psychologist specialists, lack of resources in mental health care which leads to an increased use of outpatient treatment, psychiatric wards that are closed due to the pandemic, etc., action is necessary. I am a child welfare worker at heart. And I do not believe in commissions. I believe in action. The world is in an extremely critical phase. We can’t afford to make mistakes. The aftermath of the pandemic will be worse than the pandemic itself, unless we act. The suicide rate will increase. It is already high. “Zero visions” may sound good, but visions are castles in the air without action. For what will happen? Bankruptcy figures will explode. Take a walk in any city and see how many stores are going out of business. Hotels are closing. Airlines go into liquidation. Economy is an important contributor to suicide statistics. Who doesn't remember the pictures of people jumping out of the windows during the Depression in the United States? Child welfare, social services and the hospitals are already overloaded. Same with the nursing homes. Vulnerable children are suffering. Overworked social workers will make mistakes, and both children and their families will suffer.! The Glass Onion, Page 29

Page 30

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021The police must prioritize. Being the buffer of child welfare and psychiatric wards will take even more of already strained resources, resources that are stretched thin as is. The "resource-poor" will suffer the most. SUGGESTIONS I have a number of suggestions. 1. Introduce a moratorium in all bankruptcy- and debt collection cases. Have them returned to the principal, and inform the debt collection agencies that they must find affordable payment arrangements. But - most importantly - give people with payment challenges a break from debt collection agencies and the Norwegian Central Collection Agency. Such moratorium schemes already exist in Australia and India. 2. Let stores and restaurants decide their own opening hours. We need more people working. A meaningful everyday life creates resilience. 3. People no longer care about infection control. To protect those who need it most, accept the offers from hotel chains. Offer risk groups shelter and let the personnel work long shifts, with mandatory testing well in advance of and when they arrive on duty. This will provide job opportunities for pensioners from the health and social care sector. 4. There has been a lot of talk about citizens' salaries for those with a salary / social security below the median. I have an alternative suggestion: a foundation for all those who can document that the economy is a burden, that can cover mental and physical treatment, activities for children, necessary medicines, alternative treatment and so on. The Glass Onion, Page 30

Page 31

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 20215. Increase road tolls for trucks (long-distance transport) during rush hour. Since they have mandatory rest periods, let them take their rest then. The environment has a lot to say for well-being, and not having to start and end the day in eternal queues will be beneficial for mental health. 6. Legalize marijuana. Get it in pharmacies. This will create many niche companies, as has been seen in states in the US, and allow a transition from “illegal” to “legal” business. Introduce safe places for using drugs across the country and allow those who can document long-term abuse to buy heroin and other drugs. The police resources that are released can focus on street sale. Especially the aggressive pushers. Let the tax income from sales and production of marijuana fund the expenses of taking care of chronic users. For some, "green" is a better option than pills. 7. Create a refugee bridge from refugee camps and areas surrounding high-conflict countries such as Afghanistan. Prioritise children, the disabled and women. Let experienced people go to the camps to interview people. Let them populate communities where we need more people, and in exchange get a guaranteed stay e.g. for three years. Prioritize healthcare professionals from other countries - we need them. Where possible, put together family groups, in line with UNICEF's Children's Villages. Connect single minor refugees with parents.!In light of the desperate situation in Afghanistan, this is of high priority. 8. We need a new methodology to meet the "mentally ill" and “addicted”. I have started my own humanitarian organization, and one of my goals is to create such a healing place. A new type of institution. The exact place and date is yet to be determined - get in touch if you The Glass Onion, Page 31

Page 32

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021want to be involved. You can read about it here: SurroundTherapy (methodology), Earth House (organization) and Earth House Church. Comment on the proposal: As a social worker and therapist with 22 years of experience in working with the underprivileged and the voiceless, I have my own perspective in these areas. It has also been formed by being the son of Reidun Ueland, who was one of Norway's best psychologists in her field. In addition to being a social worker, I have had had my struggles with NAV, mental health care and other agencies. And it is the fight against NAV (Social Service) and the psychiatric system that has cost me the most. I can’t count how many times I stood with a knife against my throat, thinking “No more. No more abuse. No more discrimination. No more bureaucracy, I can’t take it anymore”. I left my ordinary life in 2018 to follow a spiritual path. I had given the mental health system their chance, with their pills, their therapy, and their limited understanding of life. It was time to be my own therapist. And, I had thought that the system would support such an endeavour. Instead, it has become an enemy. An oppressor. After July 22, 2011, when Anders Behring Breivik perpetrated his heinous actions, leaving devastation and 85 dead people in his wake, Norway gathered, and the whole world watched in admiration as we dealt with the situation. We need a revival. The system needs a wake-up call. The Glass Onion, Page 32

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 6 Questions To become a Buddha or Boddhisatva, they key lies in the questions you ask yourself. I would like to make some suggestions. They have been instrumental in my own path, and I hope that they will inspire you to find your own. 1. Do you dare to be so radically honest towards yourself and others that your insides are tied into a knot? 2. Can you see that, for the human sitting opposite you, your pain will always be secondary? 3. Can you be so honest about your path that you can let each mistake, every failure, be a blessing? 4. Do you allow others to state their needs honestly, without judgement from you? 5. Do you believe you can change another sentient beings path? 6. Do you know when to act and when to be still? 7. Do you dare to question everything? 8. Are you aware that you can change the world? 9. Can you face your own vulnerability, frailty and lack, while acknowledging your perfection? The Glass Onion, Page 35

Page 36

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 202110. Do you speak your truth with conviction, while remembering that respect begets respect? 11. When asking a question - do you dare to be quiet while waiting for the answer? 12. Do you recognise the power of why? 13. Do you see the joy of asking why not? 14. Do you aim to understand what can not be understood? 15. Do you recognise the power of one? The Power of One 7,794,798,739 people lived in the world in 2020. The population is growing by 1,1% annually. So … there is not much you can do, is there? You aren’t Jesus. You are not Mohammad the Prophet, Siddhartha Gautama, Mother Mary or Barack Obama. Yet, you have an immense power. Because you can, right this moment, change someone’s life. You can smile at a stranger. You can reach out with kindness to a friend, offer a hand to someone who has lost their light, or say a silent prayer to the world. What happens if you reach out today … if you sing a song to someone dying, give a dollar to a beggar, or simply say “I see you. You are not alone” to someone in need? Imagine this growing exponentially. If your random acts of kindness start spreading like ripples in water. One becomes three The Glass Onion, Page 36

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021becomes nine becomes 27 and so on. And suddenly, your one act has covered our globe. Now, I will be quiet. Reflect on the questions - they are not meant to be answered with “yes” or “no”, but to invite you to delve into yourself. You are a magnificent human being. You have the power. Grab it, cherish it, shine every day. Illuminate others in your loving light. Blessings. The Glass Onion, Page 37

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 7 Evil I have met evil. It was 1988. I worked in a mental youth ward near Oslo, Norway. We had a young boy there. 8 or 12 (there is a reason for my inaccuracies). He had been raped by his father since he was four. With a knife at his throat, and the statement “if you tell mum, I will first cut your throat, then mine”. This went on for four years, before the mother found out. My talks with her, having a cigarette at the porch… her regret at not understanding. Not believing in the signs she saw… Her face will never leave me. He used to turn towards male coworkers while showering, spreading his butt-cheeks to offer himself. I asked to be excused from assisting him in the shower situation. Yet, it affected me. The father got a sentence of four years. Another boy I worked with, shared a myriad of images. Being zipped up in a sleeping bag and kicked. The crunch of the face of a young boy with Downs syndrome, under a military boot. His. His face twisted when describing an act of torture so heinous, I had to Google it. I found it described in a war movie from Serbia. It involved a garden hose, a length of barbed wire, a dangling key, it’s corresponding lock, and a can of lube. The Glass Onion, Page 38

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021A girl, K , an angelic 14 year old with platina blond hair, was found after having escaped an institution. Her retelling waking up with a line of men waiting for their turn between her legs, the syringe dangling from her arm… it was in 2008, and I can still see the room where she retold the story. I am an empath. I feel the emotions of others as if they are mine. And I store them. In my own healing journey, I have used Ayahuasca in sacred settings. In one of the first circles I was a part of, we were all coming down from an intense session. I went over to the fireplace. A young woman sat there, staring into the fire. And suddenly I knew… she had been raped. A gang rape. Led by someone she thought was a friend. I sat there crying as I went with her through the memories of what happened in that dark cellar. I smelled it. I sensed it. I did not feel her physical pain. This moment was one of the reasons that I became a celibate monk September 8th, 2019. A few final images from the some of the institutions where I have worked: I have signed XX declarations of confidentiality. Hence, the inaccurate ages and lack of information identifying the places I worked in. The Glass Onion, Page 39

His new cuts so deep, they had to be sown. I remember him holding my hand with an iron grip. So many images. So many stories. I consider myself blessed. My 20+ years in social work, the last 12 as child welfare worker (#barnevernspedagog!and proud of it!), have left traces. But mostly, they have left hope. Some of my kids still keep in touch. And yes, they are my kids. I have a huge family spread across Norway & the rest of the world. I see from Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat that they have vibrant lives. My life is unorthodox. I travel to where my intuition tells me to go. I have sermons on Smule and Starmaker (Karaoke apps). I only trust myself. And my dog. And I hate child molesters, drug dealers and racists with a burning fire. But if you have Googled!mAncient, and seen me on YouTube ranting about some perceived injustice. Don’t judge me. Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 8 The Spectrum of Emotions Nothing existed. From nothing - with a sound; perhaps Om - a particle and its anti-particle appeared. And the universe was born. From this humble seed, a multiverse of opportunities appeared. Among lightworkers, we often talk about “dark” and “light” energy. I find this too simplistic. The Glass Onion, Page 42

Page 43

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Energy does not have a value. A plant needs the sunlight to grow, without it, photosynthesis is not possible. But it also needs the darkness as a part of its cycle. Can you from this label the sun as good and darkness as bad? Yesterday, I had a long talk with my daughter Anna. She said something interesting. She had heard from an expert in the Bible that Hell was not, biblically, a place of brimstone and pain. It was nothing. A soul being extinguished like a candle. Considering that in Buddhism, the end of existence, stepping out of the Circle is Nirvana - are these two possible to combine? Traditionally, religions have fought bitter wars. History is rife with them, and we see them in Afghanistan, Israel and multiple others. But this is plain and utter nonsense, in my opinion. The goal of all religions is enlightenment. Finding back to the connection with the divine. In Hinduism and Buddhism through yoga, devotion and meditation. In Christianity, Judaism and Islam through prayer. Enlightened beings have gone before us. Shown us their way. And it is up to take what resonates with us - use the religious practices as a framework to find our own pathway to enlightenment. Let’s say that Christianity is Red, Buddhism is Blue, Hinduism is Yellow, Islam is Green, Judaism White, and so on. All the colours of the rainbow. A spectacle of colours, spanning the whole spectrum. Just like sexuality. Some like men. Some like women. Some like both. But … it is all about the love. The Glass Onion, Page 43

Page 44

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021I remember the tale of physicist Richard Feynman. At a talk, a woman approached him. She said: “Don't you know that the world is really sitting on the back of a giant turtle?” Feynman asked what the turtle was standing on: “Well, it's turtles all the way down!”. Actually, it is love. Some time ago, I was in a Clubhouse-room. The subject was "Anger". There, I shared my self-inflicted diagnosis. It is not a part of the DSM or the ICD, and I will tell you what it is at the end of this chapter."Anger" is an interesting word. In Norwegian, it means "regret/remorse". It stems from the Old Norse word "angr", which means "grief". One of the things we talked about, was coping with the effects of anger.!We tend to speak of good and bad emotions. Hate, anger, rage and so on are bad. Love, compassion, empathy, good. As seen in the image below. The Glass Onion, Page 44

Page 45

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021 Image from Ledgernote.com - do check out the linked article! This is the first commandment of SurroundTherapy. My method. 1. Know yourself What is the best way of knowing yourself? Look inward and outward simultaneously. See how you are mirrored in the eyes of others. If you perceive yourself as "friendly" - does other people smile at you? Or do they look at you with fear, suspicion, lust, greed or The Glass Onion, Page 45

Page 46

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021jealousy? Your introspective abilities depend on your truthseeing. A great tool for getting to know yourself is the work of John Lenhart. Give his test a try! The second commandment is 2. Accept yourself What is the key to doing so? Stop judging your emotions. Just ... stop. Right This Moment. This is the model I suggest: Think of Quarks. Six different types are known: Up, Down, Charm, Strange, Top and Bottom. And their anti-particles. There is no evaluation in their names. No judgement. Just a simple statement that they have different qualities. If you reframe how you view your own emotions. Allow them to flow. And --- observe. Observe your own reactions to your emotions, your reactions to other people's emotions ... simply observe and be still. I won't pretend that this is easy. Here is a technique I have found beneficial to face my own demons. 3. Love yourself When you love yourself, including all your flaws and foibles, your emotions no matter what spin they have, love grows. Your ability to love others is increased. And anger lessens. That's it. Three rather stoic rules. The Glass Onion, Page 46

Page 47

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021I am a contextual benevolent psychopath. If necessary, I can turn off all emotion to just "get the job done". Then, I get the reaction afterwards. The doubts. "Did I choose the right path?" Used to be, this happened when meeting racism, neglect, abuse of individuals and similar. Later years, my warrior side comes out when meeting the moral fascism of bureaucratic systems. And there are a lot of those in the world... The Glass Onion, Page 47

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 9 8 Who am I? Judging from this book, you may think “he’s an utter nutcase”. That may be. But let me tell you a secret … There are eight of us. We came here to help and to judge. We don’t come from here. We are what may be considered “walkin-spirits”. Not a typo. We come to visit when it is necessary for the development of Earth House. The rest of the universe is not impressed with us. With our greed, our stewardship over the planet, how we treat our children and our animals. They don’t like our nuclear arsenal. They don’t like our maltreatment of the oceans. They don’t like the devastation that happens in the Amazon. They don’t like how we disrespect our elders - the indigenous tribes. They don’t like the trafficking, the tendency to divide to conquer, the corruption, how we bleed our planets mineral resources dry, how we poison it with nuclear waste. No, they are far from impressed. We are letting the idiots lead us. And yet, not all is bleak. The Glass Onion, Page 48

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Yes. Dogs again. The way we treat our children say a lot about Homo Sapiens as a race. Yet, with children, we have a biological imperative to nurture and care for them. Only the most blunted among you do not react when faced with the cries of a child. Only the most morally corrupt are able to use children as merchandise. Dogs came to us to help us evolve. To protect us. Servant leaders who are willing to die for their human. And these angels in disguise, we euthanise. We eat. Use in dog fights. Create breeds that are totally dysfunctional - toy dogs that have the mentality of a wolf, brain of a toad, and body of a 90 year old human. But the hour is … late. I will leave you with a song. Imagine … feat. Dunya. And … if you care to visit my church… Welcome! The Glass Onion, Page 50

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 10 Authority Authority is an interesting word. It comes from the latin Auctor; "Originator, promoter" - Author. A lot of people claim to have special insights into God. He does speak in the silence, yet too many of us are so busy chattering, we don't hear his voice. Perhaps we are all characters in the Book of God. Some are narrators, some are extras. Others have a leading role. I have walked through life knowing that this is not all we are. A friend of mine has an interesting concept of God: the God particle. He believes that God rests in the smallest particle that exists. Currently, they are called quarks, but science moves forward, so... I like that, as it ties in with the Sanskrit greeting "Namaste": "The Divine in me bows to the Divine in you". Implied: we are all part of the Divine. The Glass Onion, Page 51

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 11 Judgement - again Now, on the off-chance that what I was saying in chapter 9 wasn’t merely lunatic ramblings from a deranged Norwegian monk, you may be asking … “So? I can’t change the world. I can’t change the trajectory of our collective actions. I can try to be a good person, but I am fallible. Should I just crumble up and die, as we are probably fated to end up in isolation from the rest of the Universe, due to our mismanagement of Mother Earth?” Oh no. Far from it. And I won’t impose any long list of commandments. Instead, I will steal an idea from Silvia Hartman of Guild of Energists. Find your personal miracles. “Miracles” is a word that brings to mind walking-on-water, turning water into wine, and healing lepers. Huge, world-changing events. We need to reclaim “miracles”. The simple fact that you are alive, is a miracle. Think back on your life … how many times could that have changed? How many times have you almost been hit by a bus? How many times have you met just the right person at just the right time for something amazing to happen in your life? The Glass Onion, Page 52

Page 53

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021How may times have you seen a sunset, and been so struck with awe that you teared up, knowing that you were illuminated by perfection? Heard a song that struck your heart, making it soar? I would like to invite you to do an exercise. Put both of your hands in front of your heart. Your dominant, closest to your chest. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, inhale deeply. See yourself, standing at the front of a long line of your ancestors. Each of them, cheering your on. Every one of them supporting you, loving you, telling you that you are worthy of all the good Earth can bring you. You are worthy of love, of compassion, of friendships and well-being and health. See how your life, since you were born, was a miraculous path that led to just this single moment. When you realise that you are perfectly you. And your essence is love. As you see your path, which stretches much further back than your birth, see how there are shining stars along your path. Your miracle moments. Those moments of perfect flow. Some of them lasting just a few seconds, other longer. The song of your life is a beautiful symphony. You are worthy. You are perfectly you. Now, you know. You are God. The Glass Onion, Page 53

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Within you rests a perfect diamond that shines so strongly, it lights up every shadow. When you remember the miracle that is you, its lights grows stronger. Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021Chapter 12 The Egg Used with permission from the author, Andy Weir You were on your way home when you died. It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me. And that’s when you met me. “What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?” “You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words. “There was a… a truck and it was skidding…” “Yup,” I said. “I… I died?” “Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said. You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?” “More or less,” I said. “Are you god?” You asked. “Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.” The Glass Onion, Page 55

Page 56

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021“My kids… my wife,” you said. “What about them?” “Will they be all right?” “That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.” You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty. “Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.” “Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?” “Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.” “Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,” “All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.” You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?” “Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.” The Glass Onion, Page 56

Page 57

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.” “Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.” I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had. “You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.” “How many times have I been reincarnated, then?” “Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.” “Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?” “Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.” “Where you come from?” You said. The Glass Onion, Page 57

Page 58

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021“Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.” “Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.” “Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.” “So what’s the point of it all?” “Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?” “Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted. I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.” “You mean mankind? You want us to mature?” “No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.” “Just me? What about everyone else?” “There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.” You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…” “All you. Different incarnations of you.” “Wait. I’m everyone!?” The Glass Onion, Page 58

Page 59

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back. “I’m every human being who ever lived?” “Or who will ever live, yes.” “I’m Abraham Lincoln?” “And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added. “I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled. “And you’re the millions he killed.” “I’m Jesus?” “And you’re everyone who followed him.” You fell silent. “Every time you victimised someone,” I said, “you were victimising yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.” You thought for a long time. “Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?” “Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.” “Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?” The Glass Onion, Page 59

Page 60

Håkon Rian mAncient Ueland 5. December 2021“No. Not yet. You’re a foetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.” “So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…” “An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.” And I sent you on your way. If Nessi gets too close-and-personal, or if she decides to taste one of the berries (which are actually stone-fruits), she might be hurt or die. But Nessi is sensible. She does neither. Humanity, as a whole, are not as sensible. We have brought our planet to the brink of disaster. Back in 1993, I took advanced biology. My teacher told us this: when a species overtax the environment they live in, three things happen: •More illness •More violence •More homosexuality Now, before the rainbow crowd jump all over me … I think that love is love.
