The Cool Projects is a small business based on the island of Aegina, Greece. It was founded by Yanis Zagorianakos and Marina Coriolano-Lykourezos, with the support of great collaborators.
Our reason to be: design and produce natural handmade products locally with respect to the whole environment. Doing it with care and offering useful objects that add a little beauty to life.
The company has three brands:
COOL SOAP, a series of all natural, handmade soaps made with Greek extra virgin olive oil and other plant oils combined with essential oils so as to create a selection of soaps with different properties for all to enjoy;
COOL COLLECTION, a series of accessories and objects for the bath and home.
MOOD OF THE DAY, a collection of seven soaps in seven colours and seven moods, all in a box to put you in the mood.
Our aim is to bring the traditional method of soap making into modern life
and needs while producing soaps that respect nature, people and animals.
Olive oil is known to be the best, natural humectant for the human skin.
Its antioxidant properties are legendary for nourishing the skin and fighting the signs of aging.
Cool Soaps, due to their high content in extra virgin olive oil and to the presence of other oils that are all benefecial to the the skin, have a wonderful cleansing and moisturizing effect, making them ideal for all skin types.
We like to focus on local and sustainably produced materials.
The extra virgin olive oil we use is produced by local farmers from various parts of the country. The herbs we use are local and very often hand-picked.
We give emphasis to quality above quantity.
We produce small batches in a slow, traditional method, the cold process method, in a modern yet small factory.
Every step of the actual soap production is done by us and by hand.
With the cold process method, the oils reach a maximum temperature of 45-50° Celsius, thus retaining all their benefits.
Also, it ensures that soaps retain their own glycerin, a natural result of the saponification and a great moisturizer.
The soaps are then left to cure for a period of 6-8 weeks. Only then are they ready for use.
Cool Soaps are always delivered fresh, we keep very small stock.
They are not perfect in shape, they do not all look the same, and their colour varies from batch to batch…

COLOURS, natural, made wiht olive oil, coconut oil, scented with essential oils and coloured naturally - a line of soaps that can cater for greater demand.

One of the main ideas behind The Cool Projects is to create beautiful gifts for all.

We also design and produce a selection of natural, handmade accessories and objects for the bath and the home to bring the Mediterranean freshness into your lives.
These include: soap dishes that are a must to lenghthen the life of natural soaps, for as all natural products free of chemicals they need looking after; scented sachets and pillows made with greek, cotton fabrics and local, hand-picked herbs; toiletry bags and soap travel bags made with greek cotton fabrics and produced locally, to accompany you everywhere you go, as well objects such as bath trays and many more.

Add in the bath to scent and soften the water. It iwll help moisturise the skin.

Yanis and Marina had the idea, but couldn’t pull the project off the ground on their own. The Cool Projects is about teamwork.

Marina Coriolano-Lykourezos
Marina studied Anthropology and Art History at SOAS, Univeristy of London. She has always had a passion for all that is natural, and lives her life with an ethical and positive attitude.
Co-founder of The Cool Projects with Yanis Zagorianakos, and responsible for everyday running and organization of the business and the overall philosophy.
Yanis Zagorianakos
Yanis has studied Industrial Chemistry BSc, The City University, London.
Co-founder of The Cool Projects with Marina Coriolano-Lykourezos, responsible for R&D, design and production of everything that leaves our workshop.
Natural, Greek soaps made with olive oil and without chemicals, packaged in the right way so as to show respect to the consumer, the producer and the environment can travel the world and be a wonderful way of showing what Greece has to offer.
