Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying this unseasonably warm weather we are having! I know I
am which is why I am so excited to share some of my adventures with you all.
On Friday I was one of the 5 million people who attend the Chicago Cubs World Series Parade! I’m so
lucky to work at a place that let us play hooky for a few hours. I may not know much about baseball
but the energy of Chicago was certainly contagious. It was an honour to witness such an exciting
moment in Chicago history.
As far as last month’s highlights, I stayed in an AirBnB for the first time. My friend Jillian and I stayed
in this super cute garden apartment in Logan Square. We had so much fun exploring the
neighbourhood so I can totally see why Logan Square is a local favourite.
Another highlight was when I got to taste the highly coveted Louis XIII. I know nothing about cognac
but it was a pretty cool experience to taste this super high- class beverage. Plus, I've never attended a
movie premiere for a movie that no one will ever see. I'm all about a once in a lifetime experience so
this was definitely an experience for the books.
I had a bountiful feast of the sea at the West Loop’s Mad Boiler. If you have Southern roots like me,
then Mad Boiler will feel like a nice taste of some good old Southern seafood cooking. I'm in heaven
when you put a bib around me and give me crab legs and shrimp.
I also shot with a new photographer Samantha Tarley. We had so much fun shooting in Lincoln Park
and you guys should definitely check out her work. October was certainly an eventful month and I’m
looking forward to what’s in store for November.
Without further ado, let’s get right inside the November Issue.
A Look Back: 90th Annual Rush University Fashion Show
Last month, the fashion event of the season was The Woman's Board of Rush University Medical
Center's 90th annual charity fashion show. For its 90th year, fashionistas and philanthropists
viewed exquisite fashions at the iconic Soldier Field while raising money for the hospital's Road
Home Program. The program benefits both veterans and their families by providing them with
one-on-one mental health care, counseling and other resources that will help them in their
transition from military to civilian life. The night raised an impressive $800,000.
In addition to supporting a good cause, it was also the fashion that had everyone raving.
This year's featured designers included many high end favorites from Ralph Lauren, Jil Sander,
Oscar de la Renta, Lela Rose, Chalk Boutique and more. As a special gift to the audience, the much
raved about designer of the season Adam Lippes was also in attendance. Guests were able to
witness his latest collection which was a delight to all who attended.
Prior to the event, guests mixed and mingled at a lavish cocktail reception at the United Club.
It was certainly a night of good fashion and fun and I'm looking forward to next year. Here are my
top looks from the show!
Weekend Snapshots
This weekend was quite eventful! I wI started by attending one of my favorite art shows
SOFA. Not going to lie, every time the exhibition comes around I feel like I don’t quite do the
experience justice. With galleries from all over the world sprawling all over Navy Pier, it can
be an overwhelming experience. SOFA is always a good time so I highly recommend this
whether you are an art connoisseur or just someone who appreciates the finer things in life.
In addition to SOFA, I also attended La Maison Rémy Martin. The pop-up experience was
only here for the weekend but I wish it were here much longer. Throughout the immersive
experience, guests were able to experience the world of Rémy Martin through a series of
tastings and interactive experiences. I enjoyed learning how to make my own Cognac blend.
My friend and I even got 3rd place! However, the highlight for me was the tasting room. We
were able to taste the different notes of the blend ranging from chocolate, honey, cheese and
macarons. I've never experienced anything like it so it's an A + for me.
Next time the La Maison Rémy Martin takes shop in Chicago I will definitely attend. Go to
LaMaisonRé to see where the experience will go next!

They must avoid electric shocks, a giant chicken, and all
types of crazy punishments. If you dare, you can even
participate for a chance to win fun prizes. BATSU takes
place in Old Town’s Kamehachi Sushi lounge so enjoy
plenty of sushi and sake.
Géjas Café: If you want a relaxing and romantic date,
then check out Lincoln Park’s Géjas Café, it was voted as
one of the most romantic date night spots in Chicago so
it’s definitely worth checking out. The red light ambiance
certainly sets the mood but it’s the delicious chocolate
and cheese fondue that has everyone coming back. They
recently opened their patio so enjoy this unusually warm
weather we are having at Géjas. Plus, check out my first
experience on the blog.
