The Briar Cup COURSE ROUTING The Briar Cup matches u lize an alternate 18 hole rou ng of the course see below Golf Genius will be u lized throughout the Briar Cup and will reflect the modified course rou ng All scorecards are also marked appropriately This rou ng maintains a Par of 36 35 and facilitates a compe ve balance by ensuring that all teams within a Flight are playing the same 9 holes each match The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Associa on has issued Course Ra ngs and Slopes based on this rou ng Individual hole handicaps have been adjusted allowing 9 holes scores to be posted in GHIN Greenbriar Hills CC Briar Cup Course Rou ng Hdcp Front Par 9 17 3 15 11 7 1 13 5 1 5 6 7 12 13 14 15 18 4 3 5 3 4 4 5 4 4 Hdcp Back Par 12 2 14 4 18 6 8 16 10 2 3 8 9 10 11 4 16 17 4 5 4 4 3 4 4 3 4 Course ra ngs slopes 69 8 129 FRONT 34 9 132 BACK 34 9 126 Please use the route through maintenance going from 1 to 5 and 15 to 18 Use the paths that go through the woods when going from 3 to 8 and 11 to 4 The Briar Cup THURSDAY NIGHT CALCUTTA CASH ONLY The Briar Cup Calcu a will be held on the eve of matches in the Main Dining Room Appe zers will be offered and members sign for drinks Teams can purchase themselves prior to the Calcu a for a buy now cost of 1750 Teams must no fy Ma Gindler by 5p on Wednesday June 7 All remaining teams will be randomly drawn put up for auc on and awarded to the highest bidder The winning bidder of each team if not their own team MUST offer the team members the opportunity to pur chase back 50 of their share The total Calcu a purse will be used to pay out the top two teams from each flight all Wild Card teams as well as the top 4 finishing teams in the Shoot Out The owner of the winning team in each flight will receive 4000 The owner of the 2nd place team in each flight will receive 1750 Any es for 2nd in a flight will split the prize money The owner of All Wild Card teams will receive 500 The owner of the top 4 finishing teams in the Shoot Out will receive the following percentage of the remaining Calcu a purse Champions 49 2nd Place 29 3rd Place 15 4th Place 7 Golf Commi ee reserves the right to increase pay outs for each Flight winner and Wild Card winners based on the total amount collected in the Calcu a ALL TEAMS PURCHASED MUST BE PAID FOR IN FULL BEFORE MATCH 1 BEGINS ON FRIDAY MORNING ANY TEAM NOT PAID FOR WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR CALCUTTA PRIZING CALCUTTA STAFF POT 5 of the Calcu a purse will be reserved as a way to help say thank you to the tremendous staff that helps make The Briar Cup such a success each year CALCUTTA BONUS POOL A maximum of 5 of the Calcu a will be awarded propor onately to 1st and 2nd place of each flight whose total amount wagered exceeds that of the average flight CALCUTTA PAYOUTS Should the event be shortened suspended or cancelled the Golf Com mi ee has full discre on over the alloca on of Calcu a payouts

The Briar Cup SCORING Matches will use the following scoring format Each hole won 1 point Each hole lost 1 point Each hole halved 0 points Maximum points that can be won or lost per match is 3 THE SHOOT OUT The 10 flight winners and 3 Wild Card teams will compete in a 5 hole alternate shot Shoot Out on holes 7 8 9 11 and 12 to determine The Briar Cup Champion Hole 12 will be played from the Short Blue Tee for the Shoot Out Team Handicaps will be calculated by taking 50 of the combined team course handicap The Strokes will be allocated based on the revised Briar Cup course and hole ra ngs half strokes are used Teams must designate a player Player A to tee off on the first shoot out hole The other player Player B will then tee off on the subsequent hole with the two players con nuing to alternate tee shots un l they are eliminated 5 teams will be eliminated on the 1st hole 4 teams on the 2nd hole 1 team on the 3rd hole 1 team on the 4th hole 1 team on the 5th hole A chip off will be used to break any es on the first 4 holes of the ShootOut If the final two teams halve the last Shoot Out hole they will play Hole 7 using a modified alternate shot format with both players from each team teeing off The partners then select the ball with which they wish to score and play that ball alternately to complete the hole Should the teams halve the hole the team with the shot closest to the pin will be declared The Briar Cup Champion No strokes will be allocated The Briar Cup FLIGHTS AND WILD CARDS Flights are based off the combined team Course Handicap using the June 1 revision from the Blue tees The lowest six combined team handicaps are placed in Flight 1 next six lowest teams are in Flight 2 and so on through Flight 10 Hole 12 will be played from the SHORT BLUE TEE The team in each flight with the highest point total a er Match 5 will be declared the winner If there is a e for 1st place in a flight s or a Wild Card berth a playoff will be conducted beginning on Hole 13 in a Foursomes alternate shot format If s ll ed teams will go to a chip off from a loca on near 6 green Three Wild Card teams will be awarded as follows Wild Card 1 Nonflight winning team with highest overall two day point total Wild Cards 2 3 Non flight winning teams other than Wild Card 1 with the two highest overall point totals on SATURDAY ONLY HANDICAPPING Each player will receive 100 of his USGA Handicap Index June 1 GHIN revision Your handicap will be calculated from the Blue tees Half strokes will be used due to the 9 hole match structure Strokes in the two Four Ball and Singles matches will be allocated based off the player with the lowest Course Handicap compe ng in the match who will play from scratch The Foursomes Alternate Shot match will allow for the higherhandicapped team to receive 50 percent of the difference between the combined team Course Handicaps The Chapman Alternate Shot match will allow for the partner with the lower Course Handicap to receive 60 percent of the Course Handicap The partner with the higher Course Handicap receives 40 percent of Course Handicap The side with the higher Course Handicap receives the difference between the Course Handicap of each side The lowerhandicapped side plays from scratch

The Briar Cup MATCH FORMATS MATCH 1 FOUR BALL Best Ball Partners each play their own ball with the lower of the partners scores coun ng as the score for the hole MATCH 2 FOUR BALL Combined Team Score Partners each play their own ball with the combined score of each partners ball coun ng as the score for the hole with a Net Double Bogey Max MATCH 3 FOURSOMES Alternate Shot Alternate Tee Shots Each team plays one ball Teams must designate a player Player A to tee off on the first hole The other player Player B will then tee off on the next hole with the two players con nuing to alternate tee shots Which player holes out does not determine who tees off on the following hole MATCH 4 CHAPMAN ALTERNATE SHOT Each player plays from the teeing ground but plays the partner s ball for the second shot A er the second shot partners select the ball with which they wish to score and play that ball alternately to complete the hole MATCH 5 SINGLES Two individual matches are contested within the foursome The lower handicap player from each team will be matched and higher handicap player from each team will be matched Matches 1 2 In the event that you or your partner announce that he you cannot play your partner will compete against your opponents alone Good luck If both cannot play you must forfeit any hole impact ed Matches 3 4 must involve all 4 players In the event that you your partner or both cannot play you must forfeit any hole impacted Match 5 In the event that you cannot play your singles match you must forfeit any hole impacted The Briar Cup FLIGHT PRIZING All Flight winning teams will receive 400 in Golf Shop credit 200 per man OVERALL PRIZING The Top 4 finishing teams in the Shoot Out receive Golf Shop credit as outlined below Champions 500 250 man 2nd Place 300 150 man 3rd Place 200 100 man 4th Place 150 75 man The Overall Shoot Out winners will have their names engraved on The Briar Cup trophy CLOSEST TO THE PIN PRIZING There will be two Closest to the Pin awards each day Friday Holes 7 16 Play from Match 3 is excluded Saturday Holes 5 10 SHOOT OUT WAGERING Bets of Win and Place will be taken on the 13 Shoot Out par cipants Minimum wager is 5 CASH ONLY Payouts will be determined based on the total amount wagered
