This is a bookabout nothing.
It's kind of likea black hole.
I mean, what'sa black hole?
Nothing.
Exactly!Now youget it.
Everyone knowsthere aretimes in life when youjust wantto do nothing.
I mean,absolutelynothing.
And a black hole is the perfect place... to do nothing.
So, you pretendyou were suckedinto a black hole, which is nothing...then there'snothing to do.
It's a brilliant plan!
But, it's notthat easydoing nothing,especially in ablack hole,because...
...other people tryto get in your way.
And it's soannoying.
While you're sittingthere minding yourown businessdoing nothinginside yourblack hole,a friend stops byand wants to play.
I don't think so!You do notwant to play... becauseyou are busy doing nothing.
Your friend doesn'tget it and offers to playone of yourfavorite games...
...likeballoonvolleyball.
Which is tempting. But you are content doing nothinginside your black hole.
Then,the bribe. You just knewthat was coming.
Your friendoffers you azillion bucks to gooutside andride bikes.
Well,everyone knowsa zillion buckswon't fit ina piggy bank. So that's out.
At this point,you revealyou are very busydoing nothinginside yourblack holeand ask yourfriend to join you.
This explanation hasconfused your friendwho only seesyou sitting onthe floorand does not see ablack hole anywhere.
Of course,you explaineveryone knowsyou can't actuallysee a black hole.
But your friendthinksit's just nonsenseand tells youa black holeis nothing.
Exactly!At last,your friend gets it.
So, your friendsits down next to you,having been sucked into your black hole,which is nothing,and now you both aredoing nothing.
Finally,nothing butnothingnessinside yourblack hole, until...
...your mom walksin and wants toknow whatyou are doing.
So, you bothtell hernothing.
She ignoresyour answer andasks if youwant some cookies.
Well, everyone knowsyou can't eat cookiesinside a black holebecause the crumbswould get suckedinto the nothingness. So you both tell herno thanks.
Now she'ssuspiciousand wantsto knowwhat you arereally up to.
Togetheryou tell hernothing.
She thinks it'snonsenseyou are doing nothing.
Exactly,you tellherin unison.
She shakes her headand leaves the room.
You are happy shegets it.Then you go back todoing nothing... inside your black hole.
I mean,absolutelynothing.
Everyone knowsit's greatto have a friendwho understandsthere aretimes in life you just wantto do nothing.
