We have a couple of finishing touches to make to the roombut at present we are up and running and if you would like to make a bookingplease ask in the pro shop. What is the swing room? We are set up with a full virtual golf facility that will be invaluable for allaspects of your golf needs going forward. When it comes to lessons therewill be no worry of what the weather is like as we can use the indoor facilityon poor days so in the future you can be assured that mother nature will notinterfere with plans. When it comes to club fitting for irons, wedges, drivers, fairways, we will be able to fit professionally inside without worrying aboutwind, rain bad lies, it will open a whole new experience. Once we are fullyoperational and the unit is complete there will be the opportunity to playsome of the most famous courses in the world on a winters evening or a wetSunday morning, the processes for doing this will be worked out in thecoming weeks once the unit is all online. The technology we are using for all you techno-buffs is Trackman 4, with afull trackman swing studio that will allow all aspects of golf coaching, fitting, games, more than enough to keep the mere curious to the super interestedmore than engaged in the whole set-up. Going into the winter this whole setup will open up a new world for golf at the club when otherwise we would beclosed and huddled up in front of the fire. Please do get in touch with me or any of the pro shop team if you would liketo make a booking and see how this great new asset that we have canbenefit your game!See you in the club soon, Scott Kirkpatrick Update from the House Committee The HSC is working with consultants to develop design options and cost estimates for replacement of the flat roofs toaddress the leaks into the locker rooms and reception area. The existing asphalt finish to the flat roof above theseareas is at end of life and has failed recently in several locations. Subject to confirmation of costs, this work will be apriority for the new year. The house subcommittee will provide members with updates on the proposed work, thetiming, and the costs in due course. In parallel tender documents have been issued to contractors for remedial worksto the gable walls of the original building to address leaks into the bar resulting from driven rain against the east facinggable wall. It is planned to complete this work before end of year. On a more positive note the swing room is now complete and operational. For information on how to use this swingroom facilities please contact Scott and his team in the Professional’s Shop. Other current areas of focus are fire safety compliance within the clubhouse, the development of a Sustainability Planfor the Club, and improvements to the maintenance yard to provide operational efficiencies for Wayne and his staff. Finally as we enter the final quarter of 2023, I would like to acknowledge the continuing work of the members of theHouse Subcommittee, whose voluntary efforts and dedication to the betterment of County Louth Golf Club can soeasily be overlooked or taken for granted.
