Each year, the school community is amazed by the talent,skills, and commitment of our student performers. OurSenior School Production never fails to bring us togetherto enjoy the music, acting, and astounding visualsfollowing months of hard work. This year in particular,our students and staff have excelled themselves with themodern classic musical, The Addams Family. In this comical musical, the Addams’ return in an originalstory that showcases everything we love about TV'swackiest family. As the lovable cast comes together andconflicts arise, we see the true message behind thelaughter: to embrace the weird and wacky in everyfamily.I wish to thank in particular our Creative Team: PriyaWilson, Stephanie Atwa, Cameron Heine and KristinaLang for their leadership and dedication. In addition, wethank the countless staff, parents, and students whohave contributed their time, talent and considerableefforts to the success of this production. Our youngperformers and crew have spent many hours inrehearsal, preparing for this day. We are proud of you all.As one who grew up watching the Addams Family ontelevision l am ready to sit back with our current familiesand enjoy watching a whole new generation raise thecurtain on this wonderful production. Enjoy the show everyone.
Since holding auditions in August of lastyear, the cast has been unrelenting intheir determination and passion for thisshow. They’ve worked tireless hoursafter school, learning their lines, musicand complex choreography to create thebest work that they can. Each studenthas walked into each rehearsal with apositive attitude, lots of energy, and ahigh level of commitment to the showand to their peers. They have alwaysworked generously and collaborativelywith the staff and with each other,displaying a high level of support andencouragement that has made therehearsals an exciting and fun place tobe.The year 7 cohort has also been workinghard in their drama lessons and hasmatched the energy and enthusiasm ofthe main cast. We hope this has been aphenomenal experience for them to beable to get up on stage and have theopportunity to perform within their firstsemester of secondary school. We wouldlike to say thank you to everyone whohas assisted in making this productionpossible, from the staff to the productioncrew to everyone behind the scenes.Thank you to Dr Vivianne Nikou and theSenior Management Team.We hope you enjoy the show!Alphington Grammar School is proud to present our 2024 production of ‘TheAddams Family’.
Against all odds, Wednesday Addams has grown up and found love in a sweet, normalyoung man named Lucas. The catch is, he’s never met her parents. To help this meeting go smoothly, Wednesday confides in her father (Gomez) that sheplans to marry him, and begs him not to tell her mother (Morticia). This forces GomezAddams to do something he's never done before - lie to his wife. Pugsley(Wednesday’s younger brother) also has devious plans to ensure this meeting goesawry. Everything will change for both families in one fateful night, with help from theAddams family ancestors and a well-timed storm!
