Note: Special Populations (ESL and SPED) observations must span the various grade bandsfor the endorsement area.Clinical ExperiencesAs a job-embedded teacher-candidate, the clinical experience is integrated directly into theirdaily teaching responsibilities. Unlike traditional programs where candidates complete short-term student teaching placements, job-embedded teachers serve as the teacher of record intheir own classrooms from day one. This provides a continuous, authentic clinical experiencethat unfolds across the school year. This daily experience is supplemented and enriched in several important ways to ensure awell-rounded and comprehensive clinical experience. Because job-embedded candidates arefull-time teachers, they engage in daily instructional planning, classroom management, assessment, and student engagement. This real-time application of coursework and feedbackis a unique strength of the job-embedded model. Additionally, they have support from aclinical educator (mentor) and participate in both single and full day peer observations todiversify their training. Together, these components create a rich, layered clinical experiencethat combines hands-on practice, guided mentorship, and intentional observation—all tailoredto support the growth of job-embedded educators as they lead their own classrooms.

After each month, clinical educators will submit a short mentorreflection form documenting these meetings.Additional Support Mentor support can extend to include checking in on the mentee’s emotional well-being andhelping them navigate the logistics of balancing their job-embedded role with coursework, family responsibilities, and daily demands. Why Self-Recording Matters for Teacher Growth Reflecting on your own teaching is one of the most powerful tools for professional growth.Recording your lessons allows you to evaluate your instructional strategies, classroommanagement, and student engagement with an objective lens. By watching your own teaching, you can identify strengths to build on and areas to improve, helping you become a moreeffective and responsive educator. As part of our program and in alignment with state expectations, recording lessons for self-evaluation purposes is encouraged and is required for formal assessments and portfoliocomponents.Parent Permission Requirement Please note: State guidelines require that parent permission is obtained before recording. Anystudent who is visible or audible in the video must have a signed permission form on file. Thisensures that student privacy is protected and all recordings are handled in an ethical andcompliant manner.Required Parent & Student CommunicationSubject: Parent Notification: Classroom Recordings for Teacher Training PurposesDear Parent/Guardian,As part of my teacher training and required coursework, I will occasionally record classroomlessons to help me grow and reflect on my teaching practice and to better understand howstudents engage in the learning. These recordings may also be shared with my RCS clinicalsupervisors as part of my professional development and portfolio.Only students with parent or guardian permission will be included in the video or audio. If youprefer not to participate, that is absolutely okay—your child will not be recorded.A video permission form is attached to this email and a hard copy has also been sent home withyour student. Please review, sign, and return the form at your earliest convenience. Thank youfor your support as I work to grow as an educator. 41RTN

AnonymousAnonymousCareer & Technical Cohort Teacher-CandidateCareer & Technical EducatorCoach Zach HarrisonWorld History and GeographyI simply wanted to take a moment of your time to say thank you. This past semester hasbeen revolutionary to my teaching practice and potentially detrimental to my longevitydue to self-inflected stress (kidding about the last part(sort of)). And I think I can speakfor most, if not our entire cohort, when I say that change is owed to you. You havebelieved in me and encouraged me throughout the past six months with additionalchallenges when you felt it was attainable. I understand our course is far from over, but Iwould be remised not to pay gratitude where it is due. Again thank you for everythingand I hope you have a happy holidays and a wonderful new year. Mike HarrisMath/Science CohortI feel like this is the first time anyone is telling me, honestly, about how to teach well. Notjust teach to survive. The program and use of the cohort group is extremely effective in creating a truepartnership among the participants as all are going through something similar and canshare different vantage points without feeling judged or brushed aside due to us all beingon the same level professionally.I loved how each class focused on something specific and it wasn’t overwhelming withinformation. Each class was broken down and I was able to use the lessons learned tohelp make my teaching better.43RTNWilliam GarnetteMiddle School MathI could go on and on about what Teach Now did for me, the breadth and depth ofexposure to pedagogical practice is unbelievable for the length of the program. Aboveall, Teach Now instilled within me the value of being a reflective practitioner.
