Story Updates from Arequipa, PeruDuring a radio program called Conexión de Fe, aman named Don José Tomayconsa called in fromthe city of Arequipa. He lives in a neighborhood inArequipa called Mariano Melgar. Through theprogram, he was able to learn about the gospeland was connected with a nearby church. Now, heshares the program with his friends so that otherscan also learn about the grace of the Lord.We would like to share a story about Mr. Miguel,who listens to the Conexión de Fe program everyday. Though his family had suggested he attendthe Adventist church, Miguel has come tounderstand that salvation can only be achievedthrough the grace of God. As a result, he hasdecided to visit a biblical church.Burkina Faso Preparing for a HarvestBy Missionary Jason Rishel Taking the Light helped us to survey about 70 new villages near the city of Bobo. The teams havecontinued to visit and evangelize in the villages that we found were open to the Gospel, and we havebeen holding special evangelistic activities in several of them. By God’s grace, the special activities inone of these villages, called Noumoundara, have already helped us to establish a new weekly missionthere. One of the first converts in the village was a 14-year-old boy named Cheik. He is the grandson ofthe chief of this village and was born into a Muslim family. One day, one of our circuit-riding preachingteams went to his village and told Cheik about Jesus Christ. As the preachers kept returning to hisvillage, Cheik began to understand that Jesus is more than just a good person. Jesus is the Son of God.Soon, Cheik put his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Now, when the team passes by thevillage to evangelize, Cheik is waiting for them with a group of his friends that he has led to Christ. Theyhave a Bible study together and then they help the team with evangelism. God is working throughoutthe villages in Burkina! W W W . T A K I N G T H E L I G H T . C O M

We praise the Lord for his work through CarlosEstuque's ministry in Central Peru. Carlos is a pastorwith whom we partner at Taking the Light, working inthe villages of Central Peru. This past February, wedelivered a radio transmitter to aid his work in Juaja,Peru. He gives us monthly updates on his work. It ismen like this whom God will use to see the rural areasreached with the Gospel. Please pray for this man ofGod and his family. On April 19, 2024, I had the privilege of taking 50 highschool and junior high students to a Buddhist templeto show these young men and women what almost500 million people are trusting in. There, we showedthe need to take the Gospel to countries that are indesperate need. Please pray with me that the Lordwill continue to work in the hearts of His people to callout more workers into His mission field, and more willbe called to take the Light to this dark and needyworld. Thank you, Lighthouse Christian Academy, foryour care to take the Gospel to the world.Missions Perspectives 2024My home church has been incredible with all theirassistance in Taking the Light. God has blessed andgifted Lighthouse Baptist Church with fantastic menand women who have hearts to take the Gospelworldwide. Scott Christian has been a God-send. Godhas used the decades that Scott worked for the USNavy and United Airways to develop the needed skillsto help design and assemble the transmitters. Scotttakes the talents and time that God has given him tohelp make these transmitters so that others in smalltowns can access the Gospel. Thank you, Lord, forScott.Taking the Light TeamW W W .
