Yet they face signicant challenges and lack key resources and skills to address them effectively. To better support them, Global Water Center launched a program to listen closely, understand their needs, and co-create a plan to professionalize rural water management for lasting impact.Strengthening Rural Water Systems in Honduras Recent Milestones: From Tanzania to Honduras to India, we’re investing in solutions that are rooted, replicable, and ready to grow. Together, we’re turning local breakthroughs into global progress.What’s Next:Trainings on borehole supervision, chlorination, supply chain logistics, and groundwater management will help create a replicable model for East Africa.Next Steps:Rallying government ministries, donors, and local institutions to implement system-wide reform that can be replicated across Latin America.How We’re Laying the Groundwork for Lasting Change: n Nationwide Survey of 151 Water Boards: Created a clear picture of current needs n Training Landscape Mapping: Analyzed support offered by nonprots, government, and universities n Roadmap for Professionalization: Brought together 24 organizations to form a plan to strengthen rural water boards n Widespread Support for the Roadmap: 58 leaders attended a webinar about the national plan Together, we’re building sustainable solutions from the ground up.

Advancing Solar Solutions in Karnataka, India This summer, we’re celebrating our two-year partnership with the government of Karnataka, which supported capacity development in solar powered water systems for over 500 engineers. Our demonstration site is a living model of what’s possible, providing:The demonstration site is now sparking interest from other regions looking to replicate the approach. Together, we explored ve core strategies for solving the global water crisis: human capacity development, government engagement & public-private partnerships, blended nancing, data for action & accountability, and collaborative impact. Three new projects have started as a direct result of the event, and momentum is building as more partners step forward to collaborate. Doors Opening in Southeast Asia A partnership with TapEffect is laying the groundwork for future projects in Cambodia.
