Swim Level Descriptions • It is very important to enroll your children in the appropriate skill level. • Children will be moved to more appropriate levels as deemed necessary. • A parent cannot be in the pool with their child during swim lessons from Level 1 through Level 6 and Diving. • All decisions rendered by the Pool Manager will be nal. 6 mos. – 4 yearsWater Exploration & Safety Level3.5 – 5 years Preschool + Parent Level6 years - Adult (Levels 1 - 6 + Diving & Lifeguarding) Level 1Preschool LevelLevel 2 Beginner Level Level 3Advanced BeginnerAge/Levels Course Description This level provides an introduction to water safety and basic water skills for both parent and child. It is not a swim lesson. The Water Exploration and Safety level is meant to allow the child to explore the water in a closely supervised and fun environment with the guidance of the instructor and parent.THIS IS A 30 MINUTE CLASS.This level helps students feel comfortable in the water while parents are at their side. Students learn elementary water skills that they can build on as they progress through the various swim lesson levels. Water Smart rules are introduced that are encouraged.This level helps students feel comfortable in the water without the presence of parents. Students will learn elementary water skills and safety tips that will stay with them throughout all swim lesson levels. This level builds on elementary water skills previously learned and teaches students the skills needed to complete a 25-yard swim for three strokes: Elementary Backstroke, Front Crawl, and Backstroke. All elementary water skills are reinforced so that they become second nature to the students. All water safety rules are discussed as well.This level teaches students how to master stroke development and requires them to complete 50-yard swims of Elementary Backstroke and Backstroke. Students work to complete 25-yard swims of the Breaststroke and Front Crawl with rhythmical breathing. The Scissor Kick and Sidestroke are also introduced at this swim level.Level 4Intermediate LevelThis level strengthens students’ coordination of key strokes. The Sidestroke, Buttery and treading water are introduced at this level. Students work to complete 50 yards of Front Crawl with rhythmic breathing, 75 yards of Backstroke, 50 yards of Breaststroke, 50 yards of Sidestroke, 75 yards of Elementary Backstroke, and 25 yards of Buttery.Level 5Advanced Level This level polishes strokes so students swim with improved ease, power and condence over greater distances. At this level, swimmers should be able to complete 100 yards of Front Crawl with Rhythmical Breathing, 100 yards of Backstroke, 100 yards of Breaststroke, 100 yards of Sidestroke, 100 yards of Elementary Backstroke, 50 yards of Buttery, and three minutes treading water.Level 6AdultIt’s never too late to learn to swim. Basic swimming and self-rescue skills are taught in an environment that is within the comfort zone for each adult.Diving Introduces and practice fundamental springboard diving. Skills Taught: front jump from the edge of diving board, pike, back dive, front approach with hurdle. MUST HAVE COMPLETED LEVEL 2. Burr Ridge Park District announces the opening of 2023 BRFL registration. All divisions oer all participants the chance to play football in a non-contact and fun football atmosphere. Your registration fee includes a team jersey, a ag belt, mid-season giveaway raes, a weekly BRFL report, and awards at the end of the season. Instruction will be provided for skills, rules, and good sportsmanship. Games and practices will be held at Harvester Park and Fara Family Park.LEAGUES Hawk Code: 10691 - The Hawk Division develops basic skills, fundamentals and basic game strategy. • ENTERING 1ST OR 2ND GRADE IN THE FALL OF 2023. • Maximum of 6 teams only. • Coaches play quarterback. • Training Camp: 1-3pm, 8/14 - 8/16 at Harvester Park, includes rules orientation and equipment hand out on rst day. • Team Practice: 8/19 - 8:30am, 8/23 - 5:30pm, 8/24 - 5:30pm. • Scrimmage Game: 8/26, time 8:30am. • Games: Played on Saturday mornings: Begin 9/9. Once teams are nalized, an 8-10 game regular season schedule for each division will be played. The season will complete with a single elimination tournament culminating in the annual Bowl-Cup Championship Series (the BCCS). The 15th Annual All-Star Game, and Skills Competition will be held midway through the season. Park Sta will coach and ociate games. Game times will vary according to day. All teams will have one practice during the week.
