In 1950, a group of women met to form a constituent court to the Imperial Court Daughters ofIsis. These women were the female family members of the Nobles in the long instituted SudanTemple #93. On April 7, 1950, the group became known as Sudan Court #19.Sudan Cort #19, Daughters of Isis, Oasis of Champaign, Desert of Illinois; a Constituent Courtof the Imperial Court Daughters of Isis, was organized and received their Charter on August 14,1950.The purpose of this organization is to unite, in one common bond of friendship, the femalefamily members of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. To practice charity and benevolence; topromote general welfare and to inculcate honor and integrity as symbolized in the Legend of theEgyptian Queen ~ “The Goddess Isis.”In 1980, the first Commandress Ball was held under the leadership of, then IllustriousCommandress, Daughter Jackie Brown.Daughter Sibyl Mosley served the Imperial Court as Grand Directress of History and was elevatedto the honor of Honorary Past Imperial Commandress for her contributions, hard work anddiligence in carrying out her duties. By 2021, Sudan Court #19 began to decline in membership due to our aging population. It wasthrough the recruitment efforts of two Past Commandresses, Dt Tanya L. Hubbard, PC and DtJulia E. Bennett-Gibson, PC that 10 new Daughters were initiated and 1 demit was accepted intothe Court. Consequently, at the Imperial Sessions of 2022, Sudan Court #19 received recognitionfor increasing its membership. Then in 2023, Sudan Court #19 was once again recognized by theImperial Court, under the leadership of the Illustrious Commandress, Dt. Viodelda Burts and theChairperson of the D.I.M.E. Committee, Dt. Cleomagdalene Harris for their work in mentoringchildren in the Champaign Community.Members of Sudan Court #19 also served as officers for the Desert of Illinois. In 2018 DaughterTanya L. Hubbard served as the Desert 1st Lieutenant Commandress; And in 2023, Dt.ViodeldaBurts was elected Oriental Guide for the Desert of Illinois. Also in 2023, Dt.
