FAQ’s Why can’t I sign up for just 1 class? 2 classes a week is the basic requirement for K-12 participants because it hasbeen proven that engagement and practice in artistic and physical endeavorshave increased growth levels with multiple training sessions per week. L E A R N M O R EWhy do you train in the summer? Training is year-round, from late August to early August, with built-in breaksthroughout the year. Year-round training is better for increased skill building, physicalstrength, and technique building. Similar to pre-season training and conditioning forsports programs. Why is there a dress code? Dress Code requirements are in place to allow for ease and comfort in movement, proper footwear for technique building, building a team identity and sense ofbelonging, and creating a shared common denominator from which they canfocus more on training and creativity in their artistic endeavors. Dress code detailsare in the student handbook.www.showtimeacademyrh.com 803-203-0208 info@showtimeacademyrh.comIs the Down Payment a deposit? Mainstage Productions Participation DetailsSTC and STA Collaboration Showtime Theatre Company and Showtime Academy Rock Hill collaborate on our mainstage productions. K-12th grade participants must be enrolled for year-round training in a Performance track at STA. Casting Casting is done at the sole discretion of the production team. Some roles may be double-cast. Rehearsal time assignments are dictated by casting. Casting age ranges may vary depending on production needs. Call Backs Callbacks, if needed, will be by invitation only. Casting Call board Once casting is complete, there will be a link to the casting call board on our website, www.showtimeacademyrh.com/current-students. We will send a text to everyone to let them know casting has been posted. Casting Etiquette Casting is a difficult process for the actors and the production team. We ask that all participants and guardians be respectful of that. Know that by design, there will be many more actors cast in supporting roles and ensemble roles than leading roles. Understand that emotions run high after casting. Please refrain from confronting the production team or posting on social media about casting for a couple of weeks to respect everyone’s feelings. Parent Meetings We will host parent info meetings in person and virtually, in the fall. The parent meetings with load in/tech/and performance volunteer training closer to the performances.Performances See advertised performance dates for your show. Note that all performers must attend all performances, and all tech rehearsals. Set aside 10 days prior to opening night as blackout dates for tech rehearsals. No conflicts allowed during this period. All shows are ticketed. Everyone attending the performance must purchase a ticket. (Lap-sitters 2 and under do not require a ticket.) Ticket sales open early for patrons and then to the public. You can find links to purchase tickets on www.showtimetheatrecompany.comAdditional Fees Costume Use/Production Fees of $149 will be a combined fee and donated directly to Showtime Theatre Company. Due by October 15th. We will provide a QR code to make payments easier. This fee will cover the use of major costume pieces, concessions, and cast party supplies. What to Expect Expect that some rehearsals students will be very busy and some rehearsals they will spend learning and watching others. That is the nature of a scripted show rehearsal process. Practice At Home All students, regardless of role, will be expected to practice their lyrics and choreography at home between rehearsals so they are prepared to learn new material having already mastered the current material.

Page 21

Rehearsals Rehearsals are weekly until the 2 weeks before the show when tech rehearsals begin. Tech and dress rehearsals are mandatory. Missing tech or dress rehearsals can result in removal from the show. Costumes/Hair/Makeup Specific costume/hair and makeup requirements will be presented as we get closer to the performances. Please note, some of the costume pieces and accessories will be shared between multiple actors, so staying diligent and aware of normal kid issues like lice, deodorant and things will be very important. Participants will need to get their undergarments and costume pieces like tights and camisoles, as well as appropriate dance shoes.School Day Performances We plan to host school performances for local school students. This will require participants to miss 1 day of their regular school schedule. School excuse letters will be available. Some schools will excuse the absence and some will not. Guardians will need to connect with their schools for details.Load In and Strike Showtime Theatre Company's production team is all volunteer, and as such, they require a lot of assistance to create the caliber of production value we are known for. We require that all families contribute a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer time, with at least 4 hours of that in load in and 2 hours at load out. For those who cannot make that commitment, there is an option to donate $80 instead of volunteer hours so we can hire someone to replace you. Cast Party There will be an in-studio cast party in their normal rehearsal time the week after the performances. We will look for volunteers to assist with those events as we get closer. The participants will remain in their normal rehearsal time for additional training. After the Show Students will return to their regular weekly rehearsal time the following week, for their cast party. Then, as part of their year-round training program, they have 2 options. 1. Stay in that weekly rehearsal time for additional general musical theatre training, or move to another age/skill set appropriate class of their choice. E-mail info@showtimeacademyrh.com for assistance with schedule changes. Summer Schedule Students will automatically be enrolled in the summer evening training schedule, unless summer camps, in lieu of classes, are chosen. E-mail info@showtimeacademyrh.com. for assistance with summer schedule and summer camp choices. www.showtimeacademyrh.com info@showtimeacademyrh.com 803-203- 0208
