He has been my physician for over years and there will never be another physician like him. He even came to the house when my parents were on hospice to check on the family. He is the best!”While these are excellent reasons for being selected for the Healing Hands award, the sta also praises Dr. Allan, saying he is a role model who is always positive, greets everyone by name, and takes time to explain whenever asked. He’s known for treating patients like he would a good friend. Examples include bringing a peanut butter sandwich to a challenging patient, making a patient’s bed, and making house calls to patients in need. Thank you, Dr. Allan for the kindness you show to patients and sta alike. Karim Tadlaoui, MD, Intensivist, St. John’s Regional Medical CenterDr. Tadlaoui was nominated by ICU Nurses Omar Moraleda, Patrice ‘Fi’ Gubricky, Roxann Zamarripa, and Tony Diaz for his kind act during a patient’s nal moments. During night rounds, Dr. Tadlaoui assessed that a particular patient in the ICU was gravely. He contacted the patient’s wife with an update and expressed that the patient may not live through the night. He asked if she could come to the hospital for a last visit, but she had no ride available. Dr. Tadlaoui used his personal Uber account to coordinate a ride for her. Upon arrival, Dr. Tadlaoui escorted the wife to the patient’s room and discussed the patient’s dire condition. Fortunately, she was able to be with her husband when he passed. Dr. Tadlaoui’s eorts were above and beyond protocol, and his actions were able to provide a nal moment for the patient and wife to be together. Thank you, Dr. Tadlaoui, for your service to this family and our community. The purpose of the Dignity Health systemwide upgrade is to increase security and eciency of the system. It features a cloud-based system and a provider database, which includes all Dignity Health providers.We do not anticipate signicant changes for the providers, other than an update on the work type list. The new dictation instruction cards have been sent out and distributed to each physician, and are available to the Clinical Informatics team, HIM department and Medical Sta oce. What you need to know:.
