Newsletter Blurb Sept. 19 is National Stillbirth Prevention & Awareness Day, a day set aside to honor the tens of thousands of American families who lose a baby to stillbirth every year. The CDC reports that there are more than 21,000 stillbirths in the U.S. every year. Recent reports and data suggest that further reduction in the incidence of stillbirth is possible, indicating that at least 25% of stillbirths are potentially preventable. On this annual day of awareness, we join Healthy Birth Day, Inc., the creator of the Count the Kicks stillbirth prevention program, to provide community to the thousands of Americans who have experienced the tragedy of stillbirth and to encourage legislators to support ways to increase stillbirth research and prevention efforts. We encourage you to visit bit.ly/StillbirthPreventionDay to learn more and find ways to get involved.
